Overview

Aggression/Spider-Man capitalizes off new cards such as Deft Focus and Martial Prowess making Swinging Web Kick a 1-cost card for 8 damage.

Then new cards like: Boot Camp, Toe to Toe, Looking for Trouble, etc. to do a ton of damage for cheap (making it easier to play Webbed Up), while also allowing to thwart effectively.

I've defeated Green Goblin on Heroic with this deck. I like to test vs arch-villains for theme!
Strategy:

I often found with Spider-Man I had a real problem with threat. But now with cards like Into the Fray, Looking for Trouble, and new Aggression allies this is no longer a problem.

Once you get your set up with your cost-saving cards like: Martial Prowess, Deft Focus, Quincarrier, Web-Shooter, Avengers Mansion, and Helicarrier you're going to start doing a lot of damage for really essentially nothing. Swinging Web Kick will cost you 1, Toe to Toe will cost 0.
Card Combos

Deft Focus / Martial Prowess / Swinging Web Kick -- Spider-Man loves Deft Focus. With Martial Prowess you play Swinging Web Kick for 1-cost.

Toe to Toe & 'Spider-Sense' -- Toe to Toe combos with 'Spider-Sense' ability allowing you to draw and do 5-damage often with no repercussions with cards like Backflip. This card is also free with Martial Prowess of course. I also actually don't mind playing it on minions, especially when I have a Spider-Tracer. Chase Them Down is also much easier to play when your attack cards are so cheap.

Boot Camp & Permanent Allies -- Boot Camp turns Black Cat into a hard hitting ally that never goes away. Also now with Bug and Tigra, you have two other allies that become hard-hitters that don't leave the table.
Threat

With Spider-Man only thwarting for 1, I've always had a problem running him with Aggression. But now we have some allies that can really help in that respect with Brawn, Sentry, and Bug who can at least stay on the table to thwart.

However, the real threat removal comes with new cards like Looking for Trouble and Into the Fray that will combo with your Spider-Tracer.

Looking for Trouble and Chase Them Down really give us some low-cost options for threat removal when we need it. Again, Chase Them Down is also much easier to play when your attack cards are so cheap.

Looking for Trouble will help you get your Spider-Tracer on minions when needed. And playing Toe to Toe on big minions doesn't bother you so bad when you're not drawing a card because it's 0-cost with Martial Prowess. Especially if it's stunned by Spider-Girl.
Defense
- Spider-Man is naturally good at defense. With Toe to Toe you often have no repercussions because of Webbed Up and Backflip. I also primarily use Hulk for defense. But in a pinch Hulk won't hurt you so bad if you draw because you have minions with some good HPs or they can heal/not leave the table.
Other Card Considerations:
- If you can fit in another Into the Fray, by all means do so. I didn't find I needed it.

May 12, 2021Boot Camp and Black Cat are a great pair! What do you think about including First Aid or Honorary Avenger to buff allies like Sentry and Brawn? Would that keep them on the board too long (prevent other allies from being played)? |

Aug 04, 2021Nice deck!! gotta try it! By the way, Deft Focus will not work to pay for Enhanced Spider-Sense (superpower) right? (because that happens in the villain phase) what a pitty... then Deft Focus only pays for the the 3x Swinging Web Kick, right? hmmm Another thing: with so many "persisting" allies, do you need so many of them? Anyway, with the Boot camp they rock :), specially Brawn, hitting for 2 and then thwarting for 1, five times! (I also use boot camp and many allies with my Black Widow Aggression deck and works wonders!!) |

Jun 02, 2024Great deck! I used it to beat both Green Goblin scenarios solo. Risky Business was a bit touch-and-go at one point due to some unlucky encounter deck draws. Mutagen Formula was a breeze. |
Aug 27, 2024I hooked my daughter into learning MC by handing her this deck. It was pretty intuitive and easy to play. We went up against Ultron, and the allies in this deck provided excellent cover for all the drones, clearing the board nearly every turn. |
