Thor's Frosty Flavours

Thor really wants to punch things. This deck has a decent amount of thwarting included, but don't forget you're also trying to find and punch minions. Bring bad guys to Justice in a way only Thor can. Here is a deck for any player count that can definitely hold its own solo.

Cup or Cone

This deck needs to find things to defeat: Cups or Cones... I mean, er, Minions or Side Schemes. Thanks to lots of readying effects and other tools, you can often do both in the same round, but don't order a cone in a cup. It's weird and not a perfect metaphor.

• Defender of the Nine Realms: get a minion. Draw cards. Remove threat. Very refreshing.

• Face the Past: get a minion and draw a bunch of cards. Loki is very fun with Show of Empathy (more on that later).

• Infiltration: a 1-cost card that can remove 5 threat? What's the downside? Oh, I get to draw two cards? Just don't get a brain freeze over how you'll always slam this down for 5 even if you need less thwart power. One of the best thwart events ever printed for Thor.

• The Raft: this one doesn't 'get' you minions at least not right away, but once there are 4 minions here, anything you defeat a minion, you get a new one (and draw 2 cards, that's why we're doing this).

• Manifold: get any side scheme from your deck you want!

• One Way or Another: get any side scheme from the scenario deck you want! And draw 3 cards! Very popular item.

• Build Support: Gets Asgard for free. What more could you want? Well you're in luck, cos you can also get The Raft.

• Show of Empathy: just reminding everyone that Loki is not ELITE, so you can redeem him. Great flavour win here. He's even in the card art like they planned it that way.

• Specialized Training: Generally grab Combat Specialist here, but in multiplayer, it might make sense to get Front Line Specialist instead. Surveillance Specialist generally isn't that useful, but be sure to check before the start of the game which upgrade people would want. If you're going to end up with surveillance, take out Disguise for something else.

One Scoop or Two

After finding things to defeat, well, defeat them!

• Hammer Throw: defeats minions and overkills top the villain. Always satisfying.

• Lightning Strike: KABOOM.

• If you need some extra damage, Turn the Tide and Waylay do a lot of work here. It really depends on the encounter, player count, etc., but I like Turn the Tide in general more because it synergises with Lightning Strike. Being able to play Waylay is really fun too, and that art is wicked. Save it for encounters with high health pool enemies.

• Defender of the Nine Realms and Infiltration were already mentioned for thwarting power, but they are really good for any player count. If you're struggling in higher player counts, definitely give Even the Odds or Spider-Man a look. Peter also helps with EMH to get more targets and more consistent damage.

Choose Your Toppings

After defeating things, get your just desserts, like drawing cards! And other things that aren't as fun as drawing cards.

• Chance Encounter helps keep the deck running smoothly. Need a ready and more board presence? Lady Sif is there to help you. Need a specific side scheme? Manifold. Need a cheap AVENGERS ally to turn on Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Quake or Wiccan are there for you.
• Skilled Investigator: draw a card after a side scheme gets defeated. Put in more copies when playing with friends, but never forget the ones who discard them to Caught Off Guard.
• Turn the Tide and Waylay also fit here since they trigger after defeating a side scheme. Definitely get them a look depending on the scenario.
• Interrogation Room: good for true solo to help keep on top of threat.

Frequent Customer Card

Don't forget your frequent customer card, which gives you a stamp for every purchase. Get 10 stamps for a FREE Creamsicle. Readies. I'm talking about readies. And stat boosts. You get it.

• Earth's Mightiest Heroes: exhaust an AVENGERS minion to ready Thor. Then thwart with Disguise or attack for at least 3. Or use it to power up Lightning Strike. Cheaper than Limitless Stamina, but you can run them in addition to EMH if you can find some room.
• Face the Past: It also readies! We talked about this already, but it truly does it all.
• Specialized Training: Already discussed, but remember that it turns your 3 ATK into 4 ATK and really powers up that EMH economy.
• Disguise: let's Thor thwart for 2. So does Heroic Intuition, but this is cheaper, and how often are you thwarting anyway?
