I'm a player who keeps all his hero decks built, so when Energy Shield got revealed, I was looking at my Protection decks to find a good candidate. I've had Spider-Woman in Leadership/Protection for a long time (I always change the default aspects, so that means A/J became L/P) but I never really seemed to use Captain Marvel. Energy Shield fixes the problem, turning her into a card draw engine! This is my updated list, post-Silk/Shuri release. As a disclaimer, since I keep all my heroes built at the same time so not all cards are available as they may be tied up with other heroes.
I will also lead with I'm not the first person to realize this, as Castlefrank47 just recently posted a similar list. Check it out here! https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/49154/shielded-from-consequence-1.0
One of the things I liked most about L/P Spider-Woman were her two hero Aspect cards, Pheromones and Contaminant Immunity, which made me long for more copies. During Cycle 4, my prayers got answered: Leadership Training and Defensive Training let me shuffle these exact cards back into my deck for more control! That requires frequently flips to Alter-Ego, so I had to figure out a way to help mitigate threat.
Cosmo was my answer to that; slapping an Inspired and Comms Implant let him thwart for 6 every flipdown between both rounds, thanks to Jessica Drew's Alter-Ego ability. And, since I would then be flipping up, Moxie would give me +2 to all my stats! Score!
With the latest releases, Captain Marvel can utilize Energy Shield to evade the consequential damage from activating, which can be paid for by one of your two Finesse resource generators. Sky Cycle readies her for a second activation and your second Finesse pays for it; you're down your resource generators but now have 7 cards (and more aspect options), which I call a win! Power Gloves gets some extra damage out there with each activation, to boot.
So, between both allies, and Jessica Drew's Apartment, if I start my turn in Alter-Ego, I've removed 3 threat, done 6 more threat/damage, plus 2 more ping damage, drawn 3 cards, and haven't even activated yet!
I like to use Indomitable to make sure I get two uses of her boosted stats/phase, and still be ready to activate on my next one. Or, in a pinch, defend for the table. On top of that, thanks to The Triskelion I still have 2 ally slots left that can block for people too. Brother Voodoo, Kaluu, and White Tiger all look for more aspect cards, Clea is cheap and is an aspect card that gets shuffled in for later use, and Starhawk is an aspect card ally that's easy to replay. With the new releases, Spider-Byte is an ally that gets cheaper the more tech cards you have, and Power Gloves + Energy Shield + Comms Implant = free ally!
Between Contaminant Immunity, allies to block, and Pheromones for stuns, I constantly find myself at full health, so Fighting Fit starts paying dividends as well.
I hope this deck list inspires you!

Q: Can Finesse generate a resource to pay for an aspect card’s ability (such as Jarnbjorn)? A: Yes. As long as the resource generated by Finesse is spent on an aspect card (its resource cost or a cost within that aspect card’s ability), Finesse can be used. |
Can you use Finesse to pay for the cost of an effect on an aspect card? I always thought Finesse could only pay for the cost to play an aspect card.
