21 or Bust!
This is a joke deck for the most part because Allies are too strong IMO, although it has been pretty effective. it uses 21 allies but doesn't try to buff or ready them (although Cyclops buffs all of your attacks and Phoenix and Professor X can ready X-MEN). You'll nearly always have a "chump" blocker, and nearly always have 3 allies so that:
- Strength In Numbers draws 3 cards and
- Band Together generates 3 resources.
The purpose of the deck is that you can always affect the board with an ally, so Strength In Numbers seems out of place, but it increases your chances of drawing into something like Soul Strike or Exorcism!
Limbo is really good here to get the ally you want on top so you can play it for 1 less (Angel only costs 1 off the top of you deck) and/or get the "kicker" for Soul Strike or Exorcism, so I added Build Support as 41 and added Call for Backup as 42 to find the exact ally you want.
Why Magik?
This build should work for most heroes I think, but I chose Magik because she can play cards (allies) off the top of her deck for 1 less, and she has Stun and Confuse built into her kit. Also, Playing an X-MEN hero lets me play Marrow.
I chose Leadership for Strength In Numbers to draw into some "good stuff", Band Together which will often generate 3 s (and Beast can find it), and Call for Backup.
You could add a The Triskelion if you like!
Playesting
I've only played this deck in exactly four games thus far:
- Solo Vs. Standard Klaw: I won before getting an acceleration token
- 2-Player vs. Standard Dark Beast: We got the win but his first Environment was The Savage Land which knocked out allies earlier than I liked and discarded loads of cards from the top of my deck.
- Solo vs. Standard Taskmaster: I won with ease before I revealed a Captured by Hydra
- Solo vs. Expert Rhino: No issues
