Introduction

This is a basic Diversity deck. Hulkling is super well suited for a Diversity deck as he comes with 3 traits himself (4 if you count aerial), of which two are super rare (Kree & Skrull). Also he has a stable early game thanks to shapeshift passives, helping him to survive the first few rounds.

Deckbuilding

When I initially build this deck it had 44 cards. To get down to 40 cards I removed one of each Assess the Situation, 2xMake the Call and Band Together. I'm not sure jet if this is optimal. Clarity of Purpose, Deft Focus and even the basic double resources are other options to remove instead. Call for Backup might be a good choice, if you want to use Winged Shape.

Thoughts on Cards

I won't explain why Strength In Diversity, Strength In Numbers, The Triskelion or Band Together are in there.

Also the allies are chosen to provide a lot of traits with minimal overlap.

Fantomex will trigger Children of the Atom. A total of 14 Traits we can have.

Assess the Situation is a stable for Hulkling, because it helps you trigger your shapeshift upgrade and comes with little negative.

Make the Call will also allow you to trigger your shapeshift upgrade and will allow you to block with your allies and get them back right away.

Finally what Shapeshift upgrade to use: Winged Shape gives you aerial and the best responds on most encounters. However, some encounters may favor Armored Shape or the others. E.g. Imitation Shape is a boring but overpowered choice vs. Juggernaut :)

How to play

As in any Diversity deck, find a way to survive the first rounds without blocking with your allies each round. Once you are set up your allies provide card draw (Strength In Numbers) and you should be able to draw a Strength In Diversity every 1-2 rounds. We got 7 Events with zero costs, so you should be able to trigger your passive easily.

Have fun.
