Adam Warlock Diverse Toolbox
This deck is a Strength in Diversity build-around which came about because of a conversation with Marvel Earth Twister.
The original idea was to have Strength in Diversity plus 24 allies, but I went in a slightly differently direction:
- Strength In Numbers draws loads when you have your board built.
- Energy, Genius, and Strength are here because I chose to only runs cards which cost 2 or less!
- Knowhere and The Triskelion add two to my Ally limit and while having several GUARDIAN allies goes against what you hope to accomplish with Strength in Diversity, I'll get to draw some extra cards with Knowhere.
- Armored Vest and Electrostatic Armor boost my DEF and punish the attacker
- Chance Encounter is versatile here:
- Tutor the aspect you want (via ally) for Battle Mage when you clear the side scheme OR
- Grab the ally you want for their effect or trait when you clear the side scheme.
- Who doesn't like an ATK boost with Combat Training?
- The Sorcerer Supreme is a no brainer!
The Allies
I'll talk briefly about each ally here and include a number in parentheses. That number indicates how many different traits that ally contributes towards diversity (when compared to Adam), but of course there's some overlap:
- Bug (0) might stay around forever which actually hurts Diversity, but he can ping off toughs or finish off minions, and since he's GUARDIAN he'll draw a card with Knowhere.
- Clea (0) goes back into your deck when defeated, making her a good chump blocker.
- Cypher (1) would be better if I was running anything to Confuse but I'm not (almost). He's a cheap X-FORCE ally!
- Eros (0) can confuse minions which Cypher can then attack for benefit, but again he's a cheap GUARDIAN ally for Knowhere.
- Hugin & Munin (3) provides some real diversity while also potentially readying some of your characters.
- Major Victory (0) is a future ready and a card draw with Knowhere.
- Marvel Boy (1) can gain Piercing and Ranged by spending a resource, which you'll get when you play him if you have Knowhere in play.
- Quake (2) can punish minions while you're in alter-ego
- Starhawk (1) can give you multiple draws thanks to his "return to hand" Interrupt.
- Sunfire (1) can knock off a pesky attachment.
- Throg (1) might get a tough and is also GUARDIAN for a card draw.
- Victor Mancha (2) provides some good defense.
- Wiccan (1) will whiff more than you want, but any extra damage he can do is welcome!
Testing
I'll admit I haven't done much testing with this deck yet, but it's current record is:
- Standard Rhino: 3-0
- Standard Klaw: 1-1
- Standard Taskmaster: 2-0
