Float Like a Butterfly; Sting Like 1000 Wasps

This Float Like a Butterfly build allows Wasp's basic and event attacks, as well as her allies, to attack confused enemies for extra damage. Because of Wasp's special abilities and the tremendous card draw in this deck, multiple enemies can be confused (and sometimes stunned) with one basic Wasp attack.

VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST to refine the deck (in both standard and expert): Klaw; Juggernaut; Red Skull, and Magneto.

NOTABLE ELEMENTS OF PLAY:

Goal: Get the resource generators Quincarrier and Ingenuity into play. Then start damaging/attacking the villain while maintaining control of the board. Note that Pinpoint Strike can be used to simultaneously take out a minion and do damage to the villain with Overkill if Wasp is in Tiny hero form (and then do an extra point of damage due to defeating a minion and activating her Small But Mighty hero ability).

Main Mechanism for Goal Achievement: Go to Alter-Ego regularly to use Wasp's G.I.R.L. ability to primarily recycle Moon Girl, Nick Fury, and the Genius double-resource card back into the deck for card draw. Regularly confuse (and maybe stun) the villain and possible allies with Wasp's basic attack in combination with Upside the Head.

Professor X and Upside the Head can by cycled back into the deck, but so can Agent Coulson, who can help protect the main scheme with a combination of two Preparation Upgrades: Counterintelligence and Practiced Plan.

Other cards that can also facilitate card draw:

Nick Fury, Sr., Ironheart, Clear the Area, Pym Particles, One Way or Another, Face the Past, and Skilled Investigator, as well as Combat Specialist (pulled into play with the player side scheme, Specialized Training).

Cards Whose Purposes/Uses May not Be Obvious:

Crew Quarters: Heal Wasp to minimize her healing herself. Her Rapid Growth events depend on her being readied. This is also the reason for the inclusion of a couple of Ready to Rumble upgrades.

Wasp can confuse multiple enemies at once with Upside the Head when in Giant hero form because she can divide her attack damage amongst those enemies. This makes Combat Specialist, and Rapid Growth even more important cards because they can increase her ATK.

Conclusion:

It took a number of plays to refine this deck. Originally, I had a 43-card deck that included the Preparation Upgrade Prism Dust and Sonic Rifle, but I found that I wasn't playing either card -- other cards always had a higher priority.

After removing those 2 cards, I added one more copy of Upside the Head, which really made the deck work as intended. A great example of this was when she faced Red Skull with 3 minions out and confused all of the minions (and had previously confused Red Skull), allowing her to safely go to Alter-Ego form. The next turn, she eliminated those minions and then faced 4 minions the following turn and eliminated those as well immediately afterwards. Red Skull also had both attachments that give him retaliate, but I kept doing a lot of damage to him by defeating minions and side schemes in Tiny hero form, which deal damage with her Small But Mighty ability, plus overkill damage from Pinpoint Strike.

Excellent write up! And looks like a really fun deck, too. I love that you can recur Upside the Head with G.I.R.L., which has great synergy with her Giant form. Thanks for sharing this!!

@boomguy Thanks!! This was a particularly fun Wasp build. The video for it is coming out on Thursday, and then after that it'll be time to rank all 5 aspects for Wasp (since this is the final aspect), and this deck will definitely place highly. :-)
