War Machine - ShoulderClops
This is a Four Pack Challenge deck, built with only the Core and four other products:
- Black Widow
- War Machine (obviously)
- Next Evolution
- Magneto
ShoulderClops
The idea for this deck is to flood War Machine with ammo counters using Munitions Bunker. Every chance you get, add counters to it, but don't add them to War Machine until you're able to unleash a game-ending barrage of 2-damage bullets with Shoulder Cannon (an Upgrade which Attacks) in play and Cyclops (who increases Attacks by 1) entering play that phase!
With the emphasis on Cyclops entering play the phase you want to unleash hell, there are several ways to get him there:
- Just play him from hand of course
- Make the Call
- Play him for "free" with Squared Off
- Clear Call for Backup
- Or get him back into play with Rapid Response
Since you need Munitions Bunker as well there's some card draw to hopefully find it early:
- Maria Hill
- Nick Fury
- Face the Past: Living Laser has Quickstrike. He only hits for 2 so that's not terrible, but he also has piercing! The ready and Draw 3 is worth it imo, especially because LL only has 4 HP.
- Mission Leader (which only costs 1 because War Machine is a SOLDIER)
There's also Build Support with which I typically grab Quincarrier, but the earlier you can load up Munitions Bunker the better, so I use it to grab that instead if it's not already in play.
Shoulder Cannon is another key component and can be found with card draw and Iron Man, or be put straight into play with Superpower Training.
Black Panther and Hawkeye
Black Panther can find and store the Make the Call you need for that final push, but he can also grab Go Down Swinging (to throw himself at an enemy) or Squared Off, which might have been the Squared Off just used to play him for 3 less.
Hawkeye is just another way to take advantage of choosing to get a minion with Face the Past or Squared Off. The minion you get might only have 2 HP, but if it has more you've at least softened them up for knockout by someone else.
