VILLAINS TESTED AGAINST (and UNDEFEATED) (until one victory for each villain in both standard and expert): Klaw; Rhino (with The Doomsday Chair encounter set, which includes MODOK); Mutant Genesis villains (Sabretooth, Project Wide Awake, Master Mold, Mansion Attack, and Magneto.

NOTABLE ELEMENTS OF PLAY:

MAGNETO'S BRAND OF JUSTICE

This Justice deck ramps up Magneto's two instances of 7-point damage to four instances with the addition of Waylay. Magneto controls great power, Waylay allows him to X-ecute his enemies with impunity.

Example: When facing expert Master Mold, Magneto took out a minion and dealt 7 points of damage to the villain in the first round with Waylay and then in the second round another 7 points with Metal Shards, defeating stage II and earning a tough status. A couple of rounds later, Magneto and has allies defeated two minions (one with 6 hits points and the other with 8) to set up one last shot with Metal Shards to defeat stage III, and Magneto had used up barely half of his deck to do so. The only additional card he had in play outside of allies was Magneto's Cape, which was instrumental in contributing up to two attacks per round.

Note that normally one plays against Master Mold](/card/32110) with a Magneto ally in play; however, since I was playing the Magneto hero, that ally should be immediately discarded (in my case, I just removed him from play).

LEANING INTO THE DRAW OF MAGNETISM

Magneto metes out his justice swiftly, drawing a card every round with his Magneto's Magnetic Pull ability, which can be accelerated by Clear the Area, One Way or Another, Nick Fury, and Avengers Mansion, enabling him to be judge and jury of any situation, controlling the threat and minions at will. In addition, this kind of draw power can allow him, at times, to fire off multiple instances of 7-point damage from Metal Shards and/or the aforementioned Waylay.

Side note: I only put Avengers Mansion in decks when I know I will sometimes have opportunities to play it easily. Since Magneto has five double-resources in this deck and acquires two of those resource cards fairly regularly with his Magnetic Pull ability, Avengers Mansion can often be played readily without concern for slowing the pace of the deck (which allows him to increase that pace on future turns).

CONSTRUCTING AN INPENETRABLE WALL TO COUNTER ANY THREAT

This deck expands Magneto's answers to all threats. Already, he blocks attacks by enemies with the tough garnered by Metal Shards, disarms them with Electromagnetic Blast, immobilizes minions with Wrapped in Metal and then weaponizes them with Magnetic Missile, and this deck pushes those boundaries by confusing enemies with Dazzler and Professor X, while further stymying their schemes with Counterintelligence and Under Surveillance.

Overall, this deck has an excellent ability to not only deal with crises but to prevent them from occurring in the first place, allowing Magneto to dominate his enemies.

Cool! Thanks on both counts!

I can tell you have a great time with your guests on your channel, and your series you're doing with andyr that features not-so-well-known decks around specific themes is awesome. :-)

I love this take on Justice Magneto. It feels really smooth and upping the instance of big damage combined with Magneto’s control is just awesome. Went up against an expert sabertooth, and waylay was so crucial to keeping up the pressure!

@andyr Wow, you already tried the deck! Thanks for the feedback. Yes, Sabretooth's ability to heal can lead to some marathon battles, and I, too, found I could outpace his healing more easily than usual with this deck.

@AbisMal I like Magento in Justice and I really like going with some less used cards. Waylay really does work easily for him and I love the inclusion. Good stuff!

@Castlefrank47 Thanks! Yes, I found Justice to be a highly controlled yet powerful build for Magneto, and I always find drawing a lot of cards to be fun, too. In this case, that really helped in getting those high-damage attacks, like Waylay, played relatively frequently.

Waylay is a really fun card. I like the idea of this deck!

@Daring Lime Thanks! I agree. It's rare for me not to use Waylay in my Justice decks since it came out. It's a lot of damage output for a Justice card!
