The current version of this deck that i am playing is actually cooperative, which has allowed some of the Player Side Schemes to fit into my partners deck. The extra space allows me to run additional resource generating upgrades (Deft Focus, X-Gene) and the ever fun Symbiote Suit.
This deck is focused on two goals.
- Fill the Victory Display with Side Schemes to turn Mind Scan and Telekinetic Blast into haymakers.
- Reducing deck size to draw into those big haymakers more often.
While no game will go on long enough to make it a reality, including Forced Amnesia, you could be using X-Bunker to search the top 14 cards of your 11 card deck to put something into your hand. That thing could be Telekinetic Blast (3 cost: 14 damage), Mind Scan (2 cost: 17 thwart), or Precognition to keep from hitting the truly devastating cards.
When playing cooperatively, I always start with Build Support as the in play Setup card. This allows my partner and I to each grab Helicarrier right away. If playing solo, I would recommend Call for Backup to fetch Fantomex (and therefore E.V.A.).
Fantomex is an absolute workhorse once you have your board getting built out. E.V.A. provides a lot of flexibility, and is (in my opinion) the real reason to run Fantomex in most decks. That said, I attempt to also get down the support cared Uncanny X-Force, which allows him to thwart side schemes for 2 for no damage. Then the upgrade Clarity of Purpose, to allow him to take a damage (which E.V.A.. heals) to generate a wild resource. Both Uncanny X-Force and Clarity of Purpose are great with him, but getting both really improves the already incredible flexibility E.V.A. provides.

Mar 14, 2024At first, I wasn't sure how this would work out, but it was a ton of fun. It feels like you kinda box the villain out and play your own game, then you turn toward the villain and absolutely destroy them. The only villain I wouldn't take this up against is Hela :p, but every other villain, this is a super fun deck. |

I wanted to pop back in here and "brag" about a game I just played against Kang. It was very late game, and I was fully set up getting ready to shift into attacking Kang when he hit me with Stolen Memories stealing ALL of my deck. I only had the cards in my hand until I dealt with Stolen Memories. Except my hand was TWO copies of Telekinetic Blast, Precognition, Genius, Strength, and Bodyslide. I decided to let him keep those cards for the rest of the VERY short game. |
This is absolutely wild. As long as he doesn't pull Shadows of the Past, he's pretty unstoppable! Especially if playing with a Justice teammate to help clear the side schemes, you can get Cable's bonus ready almost every turn! Super cool deck thanks!
