Does this deck have less than 40 cards? Hell yes, it does. 37, in fact. Is that against the rules? Um...maybe...not...or...yes...or do whatever you want? See this ruling on Vison's Permanent cards by Caleb.

Here's the relevant text: "…does [Vision]’s mass form card count for deck building restrictions?"

"There’s no special rule that says his mass form upgrade does not count against his deck size, but I think we didn’t count it when constructing his pre-built. So build however you like."

So, in building however I like, here comes a 37 card Spectrum deck. Since she has 3 permanent form cards. Should this be allowed? Probably not, but let's have fun with it!

Here are the highlights:

  • Tons of card draw to get to your 12 form events faster.

  • Bring Gamora into the game with Make the Call. Use her with Team Training to get to more form changing events.

  • Use Rapid Response to bring back Blue Marvel so you can keep changing forms.

  • Use Moxie and Ready to Rumble when you change forms.

  • Less cards will allow us to roll through this deck quicker and get to what are, imo, some of the best Hero cards in the game.

  • Also, if you can't tell by the tone, this is a joke deck made to make the Devs give us a clearer ruling. :)

I can tell just by looking that this deck is going to be bustedly good.

@RJM987 Yup, hopefully decks like this will get them to give us a more clear ruling. This deck isn't truly serious, but according to that ruling, it's allowed.

@InigoMontoya

This is just wrong! LOL! Quite the loophole indeed!

@neothechosen It really is. Just 3 cards less really makes her almost indestructible. Hope they reconsider. But if you want to play as close to God mode as this game currently allows, this is the deck for you. Haha.

I'm going to play this one with Spiritual Meditation ×3 instead of Make the Call. And yeah, I'll play Gamora right from my hand! Who cares if I'm not a Guardian or Mystic.

Rules? Meh... I can build however I like apparently

:D

Unless I'm missing something, with Call for Aid x3 you go into the 40-cards zone with a deck that is virtually the same size as a 37-cards one. I get the joke, it sure is nice, what I mean is that Spectrum was already that strong before exploiting the loophole.

@Grobatar Oh, no doubt that this deck would rock with 40 cards. I'm just trying to show that she's a little broken at 37 cards. Hopefully, Caleb or some other Dev will say something like, "We can't prevent you from breaking the rules (Hence "build however you like") , but each deck needs to be 40 cards minimum. Permanent cards don't count as part of your deck."

@InigoMontoya

I don't know why it wasn't clear from the start? I mean, the game creators built a 40 cards deck, right? Then I take it for granted that these cards don't count. It seems logical.

On the other hand it's not the first time that there are unadressed loopholes. Take Cosmo. IMO it's abusive to think that it was meant to be like this, targeting Doctor Strange's invocation deck is just broken...

@neothechosen Right? I just played all these heroes (Spectrum, Vision, Valkyrie, Doctor Strange) like their permanent cards don't count toward deck size. It was obvious that was the intention.

The Cosmo thing made me laugh. Because that's what this game needed, a buff to Doctor Strange. :)

@InigoMontoya Well, Doctor Strange struggling and all... :)
