so hot right now

'Have you guys seen that really old movie?'

--

I know that I have often lauded the wonderful Aggression Ms. Marvel build and the many fun things you can do with it, but Justice Ms. Marvel is so damn fun right now thanks to a lot of fun tools from Scarlet Witch's pack. The wait was definitely worth it. This deck is an absolute blast to play, and you can do so much with seemingly no resources sometimes. As opposed to the minion control focus of Aggression, Justice is primarily tasked with defeating side schemes, which allows you to draw with Skilled Investigator, attack with Turn the Tide, and further your own board state with Clear the Area. So remember to like, share, and subscribe. Then punch that bell, and let's get into it.

The Meme Folder

First of all, Kamala bring with her a lot of her fellow champions members along with a few others to help round out the roster. Ironheart, Lockjaw, Red Dagger, and Spider-Man, in addition to being wonderful champions, are quite versatile, being able to THW, ATK, and jump in front of attacks. Nick Fury is the epitome of versatility, able to THW, ATK, THW or ATK even more, draw cards, and always jump in front of an attack. Finally, Mockingbird can prevent 2 attacks and help a small amount with damage or threat removal. And lastly, Wiccan is just one of the most efficient allies you can play, even if his damage is a bit inconsistent.

There are quite a few strong events to help for thwarting or attacking, usually both in the same and even at the same time.

On the thwarting side, you have a few interesting options. First of all, your thwarting is supplemented by Shrink, boosting the numbers on the card by 2 (this is important for later). Included in your hero 15 is Sneak By, but it is actually a thwart event you won't end up using a lot, because Justice has some great alternatives. Firstly, Clear the Area removes 2 for the cost of itself and single resource, but if you remove the last threat off a scheme, you get a 50% refund, and with Shrink, you can clear away 4, giving it an easier chance to trigger the refund. Secondly, Multitasking, which comes from the Scarlet Witch pack, and can remove 2 threat from a scheme for the cost of itself and another resource, just like Clear the Area. However, that's where the similarities end, and if you pay a , you can instead remove 2 threat from 2 different schemes. Remember how Shrink boosts the numbers on your thwarting events? Yeah, it boosts both, so with a and Shrink, this powerhouse of a card can remove 4 threat each from two different schemes, which is insane value: that's a total of 8 thwart for a card and one resource.

On the attacking side, you have the mainstay Big Hands, but Justice again brings something interesting to the table. Enter: Turn the Tide, which is an absolute game-changer for Ms. Marvel. With your great thwarting potential, you'll be defeating a lot of side schemes and clearing the main scheme often. When you do, you can Turn the Tide on the enemies and deal 3 damage, paying on the card itself and no additional resources. On its own, a wonderful value. Things get even better with Ms. Marvel's kit: First of all, Embiggen! improves the damage by 2, pumping it for a massive 5 damage with the cost of a single card. But we aren't even done yet. After that, you can use Morphogenetics to bring it back to your hand and do it again next turn, or if you truly need it, play it again immediately for a total of 8 damage for the cost of one card and Kamala's action. There's a sale on villain deaths, so bust out the credit card. Big Hands has nothing on this, and as you can see, you have many paths to victory by having extremely impactful actions from all of these new Justice toys.

Building Your Social Media Presence

I mentioned a lot of tactics already while covering the cards, but there are still a few basics to cover for this and in many cases, any Ms. Marvel deck.

First of all, you should be flipping a lot with Ms. Marvel, nearly every turn. From alter-ego, you can use Teen Spirit to dig for Ms. Marvel cards, especially things like Aamir Khan, Bruno Carrelli, and Nakia Bahadir. Aamir is wonderful for stacking the bottom of your deck so that whenever you have to reshuffle your deck and deal yourself an encounter card, you'll have one of the strongest hands to deal with whatever the encounter deck spits out at you. If you ever end in alter-ego and have any cards in your hand, store in on Bruno to draw an extra card at the end of the hero phase that round. And finally, remember that Nakia's reduction lasts until 'the end of the phase', which includes the entire hero phase, even after you swap over to hero.

On the hero side, you shouldn't be using Ms. Marvel to thwart, attack, or defend hardly ever. However, you can exhaust her for some great value with Morphogenetics, which returns a thwart, attack, or defense event to your hand after playing it. This allows you to do things like play Clear the Area the twice (using the card your draw to play the second copy, for example if you cleared a side scheme). It allows you to play Turn the Tide or Wiggle Room in the same thwart or defense action (provided there is enough damage to prevent for Wiggle Room). Often you will want to save events for the next turn to continue your train of impactful turns, but occasionally, you can use the returned card as a resource if you need it. Remember that you can easily store the returned card on Bruno if you start in hero and end in alter-ego.

You also have some great resource options, but some of them are a bit tricky to use. Biokinetic Polymer Suit generates a for any event, so it can ensure you get the kicker for Multitasking. As a backup, and mostly for thematic reasons, Sense of Justice is also there. Together they can allow you to play several thwart events in a turn if you should need. In addition to that, The Power in All of Us can be used for any of your basic allies, and your discard will often have the best doggo, Lockjaw. In a pinch, it can be a for Multitasking. And finally, Assess the Situation. The trick with this card is saving it until the last resource your spend that turn. If it's the only in your hand, and you want to clear away two side schemes, go ahead and use it over course, but if you have other cards you'd rather spend, save it until the end, and if you end your actions with it still in your hand, play it to have a bigger following turn. If you need it as a resource, just spend it though--it's either a resource now or a resource later, so spend it if you need it. And finally, Clear the Area and Skilled Investigator can draw additional cards when clearing schemes (just side schemes for the latter). So you should try to save Clear the Area to finish off schemes to get that refund, but don't be afraid to use it for its low cost if you need the threat removal.

Justice is such a great fit for Ms. Marvel, and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. So try this deck if you want to share memes, troll boomers, delete side schemes, and turn the tide on the villains. Just remember to finish your homework.

August 2023 UPDATE:

Deck update code: 128192
Ally
-1 Lockjaw
-1 Nick Fury
-1 Spider-Man
-1 Spider-Man
+1 Professor X

Event
-3 Assess the Situation
+1 Go For Champions!
+3 One Way or Another

Resource
-2 The Power in All of Us
+2 Passion for Justice

Support
+1 Champions Mobile Bunker
+1 Vigilante Training

Upgrade
-1 Sense of Justice
+1 Deft Focus

The allies have been updated to provide good status support, focusing primarily on Mockingbird and Professor X, which you can recur with Aamir.

Assess the Situation is still a decent card for Ms. Marvel as you can use it to draw 2, but that's usually her in a tough spot, and why draw 2 when you can draw 3 every round with One Way or Another. Go For Champions! is available since it's just a super strong card for any Champions hero. Ironheart and Red Dagger can benefit as well if you're playing multiplayer.

The resources have been moved around a bit as well. The Power in All of Us has been dropped in favor of Passive for Justice, which helps you secure the card draw from Clear the Area and combos really well with Multitasking.

The supports are upgraded slightly as well, with Champions Mobile Bunker providing a little more card selection and to help accelerate your deck. Vigilante Training seems odd at first, but Ms. Marvel wants to flip a lot. Try using it after you bottom something with Aamir (like Professor X), and you'll have a much higher chance you draw it again at the end of the phase.

Sense of Justice has been removed since the thwart events are so cheap, and Biokinetic Polymer Suit and Passion for Justice are just as good at getting the kicker for Multitasking. Deft Focus may seem odd at first, but you can have some great loops with Big Hands, dealing 6 damage each round, and Deft Focus makes the cost really free. Turn the Tide is still great though, but you do need side schemes, so it's not something that's available every round. Deft Focus also helps with setup, since it can pay for both Embiggen! and Shrink since they're both superpowers.

So you mention above about using turn the tide and embiggen. You mention: " After that, you can use Morphogenetics to bring it back to your hand and do it again next turn, or if you truly need it, play it again immediately for a total of 8 damage for the cost of one card and Kamala's action" Does this mean you can play turn the tide, use embiggen, and then call the card back, and then play turn the tide again on the same removal of threat?

@Schmendrixappreciate you,bro!

@Gorrahyep,t that's exactly right! we know it works this way because of the counter-punch and wiggle room rulings that say you can use them in the same way

If Ms. Marvel defends against an attack, can she: A) discard an in-play Indomitable to ready, then play Counter Punch, and exhaust herself to use Morphogenetics to bring that Counter Punch back to her hand? And, if so: B) then replay the Counter Punch that was returned back to her hand?

That all seems legit. Cool combo.

Surprised lay down the law isn’t here, but the rest of the deck looks amazing so my guess is it was a cap casualty

@BananaCrapshoot i just hated only being able to play it half the time. i have the same problem with surprise attack. i do think it's a good card, but i actually don't like it outside of ant-man/wasp (and don't like it as much for wasp either since she doesn't always want to flip)

@dr00 Love the deck! Playing Thano's campaign with friends and after half of it done no scheme has reached the second stage. It's so much fun when you can just keep playing cards over and over again :).

I'll be looking forward to see more builds from you in the future. Thanks!
