The Undercover Reporter

Undercover Reporter Cindy Moon dons a disguise to investigate and thwart the villain's schemes while supporting her heroic allies and teammates.

General Strategy

  • Albert Moon is the top priority to get into play. He allows Cindy to tuck a card every turn and discard it or another tucked card to consistently trigger Cindy's alter-ego ability and draw 2 cards.

  • Get Disguise in play ASAP for the consistent 2 THW every turn Cindy is not exhausted. There are 3 copies to help get it out sooner and to replay it easier if you ever lose it from a Caught Off Guard.

  • Husk is the most important ally of this deck as she can use any spare resources for useful activations so prioritize keeping her around. She will be the main target of The Power of Justice to use any 2 of her interrupt abilities when activating.

  • J. Jonah Jameson helps recur Get the Scoop for another source of tucked cards and helps thwart side schemes.

  • Spider-Man should stay in play for as long as possible to play Investigative Journalism consistently.

  • The Power in All of Us helps pay for Spider-Man or can be used as a wild for Husk.

  • Build Support can be used to get any of this deck's useful 3-cost or less supports into play. Priority order is Albert Moon, J. Jonah Jameson, Helicarrier, The Raft.

  • With JJJ recurring Get the Scoop, Jessica Jones can have a reliable 2 THW and if there's an encounter side scheme to thwart, that brings her to a strong 3 THW. In 3-4 player games, you can also have another player side scheme you don't plan to clear (like Going Undercover) in play to further boost her THW.

  • Nick Fury is always useful for the card draw. He can defend for others if playing multiplayer or soak up indirect damage that may be dealt.

  • Manifold is mainly for help getting Build Support.

  • First Aid keeps your allies and teammates healthy.

  • Under Surveillance may be more effective in certain scenarios and player counts, but at the very least it is effectively a decent preemptive thwart for 4.

  • Spare Assess the Situation cards are generally useful to have extra cards in the next turn.

  • Remember Avengers Mansion and Helicarrier can be used for other players if you don't need them.

  • Eidetic Memory can be used in alter-ego and may be helpful if you have tucked weaker cards to use with it.

  • The rest of Silk's hero cards will be used as resources for Husk or general spending as they require hero form.

Other Thoughts

  • The Norman Osborn Risky Business villain is a fun, thematic matchup for this deck. I successfully beat it in expert solo with this deck.

  • I wanted to try building an interesting current environment 1.7 deck and ended up making this.

  • I'm planning to play this deck through the Fear No Evil campaign as a Jessica Jones stand-in before she is released. The inclusion of the Jessica Jones ally is also a nod to this. Additionally, I'm going to try a progression mechanic to add in legacy cards after campaign wins to make this deck progressively stronger. If you're interested in the legacy version of this deck, let me know and I can post it later.

Hope you enjoy this deck and let me know how it works out if you try it!

Cool deck. Love leaning into the theme of her as an investigative journalist
