Quick Witted

qs

Thought I'd try a deck using the notoriously bad Brains Over Brawn to see if I could make any use of it.

Now, there are of course other alternatives that could serve better, however the concept of this deck is for Quicksilver to build up his THWT, which in turn plays into the other cards for this deck...

Getting Smarter

puzzle

Let's start with the easy ones - Hyper Perception and Heroic Intuition will amp up Petro's innate THWT bringing it up to an impressive 3THWT;

Recurring his best event Maximum Velocity will get it up to 5THWT for that round;

Specialized Training ca also add yet another 1THWT to Petro's base stat...making that a 6THWT, if the above Maximum Velocity is played;

Finally, it's possible to bank up to +3THWT by playing all your copies of Civic Duty . This is just for a phase, so you may consider to trigger these late game, do a massive 9THWT total, as well as trigger off Brains Over Brawn to hit for 9ATK!

The other option available, with all the massive thwarting is to play Waylay and get the most value out of it by clearing a scheme...7 damage is also a good burst to u the tempo.

Draw, Draw, Draw!

To help out with setting up your combos, I've included some cards that should get you some card draw to increase your hand size.

Skilled Investigator is a staple and an easy way to get an extra card;

Use One Way or Another to bring out a side scheme to trigger off Skilled Investigator. With amped up THWT you shouldn't have trouble thwarting all the threat off. This also comes with 3 card draw to hopefully pull any of Quicksilver's events to help along the tempo;

Manifold helps you bring out a player side scheme to again trigger off Skilled Investigator. It also allows you to put Specialized Training into play and thwart off 5 to play Surveillance Specialist. Now every time you thwart, you'll draw another card.

Connected Supports

Quincarrier obviously helps to pay for stuff alongside the crucial Friction Resistance.

Venom is added as you'll be able to make the most of his base stats...with the main scheme hopefully kept clear due to Petro's massive thwarting stats, Flash only takes 1 consequential damage for each activation...handy as he's a 2/3...solid stats.

Don't be shy to defend during the villain phase - Petro can ready up afterwards during that phase, and with that in mind, Bishop is handy as he can charge up and either thwart for a decent 2 (which you probably wouldn't need), but his attack increases with each counter on him...use him to attack.

I've included Wiccan because he's related to Petro...but all round he's pretty good value.

Finally, Quasar is the least essential..he has a 2ATK which is nice, but consider replacing him with any other ally of your choice..preferably one that can help along with dealing damage.

If the stars align, you could get some pretty cool combos going with a number of cards, and have fun with some bursts of damage. Lastly, consider playing Generation X late game, to get the card you need to finish off the villain- typically this would be Maximum Velocity, or maybe an Always Be Running to give you that extra ready to ho at the villain again!
