If you enjoy this deck, you might enjoy the Winning Hand podcast/video thing we do. You also might not, but what do you have to lose?
TLDR: The deck has tools to manage whatever you need in the moment. Status, damage, healing, encounter deck scrying, minion control, AOE damage, whatever. Get an ally in, benefit from its effect, and then YEET that bad boy out for even more benefits.
This deck has been tested at 1-2p in a variety of tough scenarios and done well. At higher player counts it would only be stronger. It's a slower deck but with just a [Cerebro](/card/34022) in place you are cooking.
When all else fails... YEET
Quick Notes:
- 10 of the 12 allies in the deck have the psionic trait, so odds are that you will be able to search your entire deck with Cerebro when you use it
- Noble Sacrifice, Go Down Swinging, Sneak Attack, and Save the Day all have the tactic trait, meaning you can (and should) recur them when you play Tactical Brilliance
- Allies aren't meant to stay around: use them to heal and protect yourself (Noble Sacrifice) or just deal damage (Go Down Swinging) and thwart (Save the Day)
- Remember that Utopia works on an X-Men, so you can use an ally's basic activation, then play another ally and ready the first ally with Utopia, and then yeet your ally for another benefit
- Won't Stay Down is a card that gets ignored a lot but it works here—in a pinch you can grab whatever ally you need in the moment out of the discard pile (Cerebro only searches the deck)
- Shuffling Tactical Brilliance back in with Mutant Education ensures you can keep the tactics flowing
- X-Men Instruction keeps the allies in the deck for Cerebro
Allies are temporary, leadership is forever.
Allies:
- Facing a tricky encounter deck? Blindfold can help give you some predictability going into the villain phase
- Got a beefy minion in front of you? #Karma can turn that into an ally
- Need some AOE damage/thwarting? Give Kid Omega a call
- Got a tricky elite minion? M can handle that (and remember that Uncanny X-Men gives her 5 HP)
- If you have a minion with high scheme, Marvel Girl will turn that into thwarting; if you've got a minion (or villain) with high attack but low scheme, Mirage can get you a stun
- Is the villain attacking for a lot? Polaris might be just what you need
- Trying to flip down but don't have a confuse out? Old reliable Professor X can hook you up, or Psylocke can bank two confuses for later
- White Queen can get rid of an enemy tough card, or a friendly confuse/stun, which saves an activation

Jul 07, 2025I love the synergies here. Still haven't gotten Scott to click for me, but this is my style. I love temp ally decks in leadership |

Jul 08, 2025Cyclops is certainly the best choice in the game for making sure that you have a sneak attack target, but I'm more of a hurl guy than a yeet guy |
Cyclops is the GOAT! Excited to give this deck a try!
