My son and I embarked on smashing the core box today where he played my basic Magneto deck. (It’s on here too nudge nudge wink wink). In doing so, as no doubt many of you have considered, Aggression is a clear option for ol’ Steel Daddy himself.
Pretty simple deck overall as it goes with the main focus on card draw, dealing with Magneto not being amazing with low minion counts and threat removal.
To the Upgrades! Combat Training, Honed Technique and Fluid Motion buff up basic stat line and for Attack events. X-Gene, Deft Focus and Martial Prowess for resource generators and Endurance for a little more health.
Supports in Crew Quarters, X-Mansion and Moira MacTaggert for healing and card draw. With Asteroid M, you can heal for 3 when you flip down and heal 3 again start of next round which saves you from having to exhaust to REC.
Allies; all make sense for some attacks, card draw and blocking.
And then events; Pitchback offers versatility in attacking whoever you want, Dive Bomb coupled with Honed Technique as we know, is madness, with Into the Fray for threat removal and Relentless Assault to keep up the damage on the villain.
You could take out an Attack event or two and throw in a couple of Assess the Situation. I have had it where I’ve flipped to hero, played 2 x Assess the Situation, with Moira MacTaggert giving me another card as his magnetic pull ability giving me another card. 10 cards in hand - devastating.
Like I say, all quite straightforward but I’m hoping pretty dang effective.
