Good man getting angry

Nightcrawler is known as the reliable rock, the sort to turn the other cheek and try to do the right thing. But sometimes, the right thing is getting angry and standing up to stop bad things from happening. And when he gets angry, he gets really angry.

Allies We don't need a lot of these, thanks to Bamf! helping us mitigate damage, so the ones we bring we can use for their basic activations. Chumping is for chumps!

  • Glob is our most disposable ally, as his damage only procs when he enters play,
  • Goldballs is one we'll want to use ever activation for, if we can, as his damage is so potent
  • Sunfire is a favorite standby to help get rid of any attachments, and we have plenty of energy resources in-kit.
  • Synch is here to boost defense, if we need it, or boost our thwart to 3 for side schemes, or just push damage. He also works for boosting recovery. A great, flexible ally.
  • Daytripper is another we want to get down for Bamf! access, and then get her back into the discard for the deck pass.

Events We have two here in aggression, and they are both very angry.

  • Take That! is amazing with Nightcrawler. Along with Rogue, Cyclops, Iceman, Valkyrie, and a few others, Nightcrawler is one of the few characters that can put upgrades on the villain, and Take That! is great value in attacking the villain. If you can get Marked on a minion, along with Gatekeeper, it's very good against minions, as well.
  • Toe to Toe really helps Nightcrawler out. Nothing is sadder than drawing a Tally Ho! and not being able to use it. You either hold it until the villain phase (worth doing, sometimes) or you can make the villain attack you, then deal 3 back (4 with the #Cutleasses).
  • Fusillade is awesome at pushing damage through, and we can exhaust Kurt's Cutlassessses to do it!

Player Side Scheme

Support

  • The X-Jet is money in the bank to help with economy and is a clutch way to get a Bamf!f if you want to keep all of your cards

Upgrades

Some tips

  • Don't be afraid to let a Bamf! float. If, going into the villain phase, you have a lot of cards that do damage contingent on #Bamf, sometimes doing a basic defense instead means the difference between playing one or two events. Not having to pitch a card to get #bamf can be clutch, just be wary of stun events.
  • Specialized Training can really go in any direction. You could use it to boost thwarting, which he'll do often with his basic, defense if there are no others clamoring for it, or attack if you're the main damage dealer.
  • Take That! seems to often get used for villain damage in my proxy games, but it can come in handy for minions that are juiced from Gatekeeper.

Sometimes good people have to get angry. Sometimes good people forget that. And now it's time to make the villain remember what happens when good people remember that.

Low key I think Aggression is one of Nightcrawler's best aspects! I went with a Danger Room build with like Shark Girl and co, but the fact that Cutlasses don't exhaust is really nice!!

I was thinking about not only quitting this game, but giving all the cards to my toddlers to fold and crumple and chomp on. This deck got published - I bought an extra copy of everything.
