Before you read
You need to understand defense rules very well and how they interact with Shadowcat. For reference, this is a very helpful video (credits to SCOE youtube channel).
The deck
Shadowcat is a unique hero. In this deck the idea is to take advantage of her ability to take no damage to a full potential while dealing damage and managing threat at the same time.
Strenghts
Your defense is incredible. You normally can defend two times per round. This comes in handy if you got a treachery that trigger an extra attack on the villian. You are also decent at managing threat (thanks to Shodowcat´s 2 THW and cards like Lockheed, Airwalk, Jump Flip and Hard to Ignore) and very good at dealing damage (thanks to Shadowcat Surprise, Counter-Punch, Powerful Punch and Phase Strike).
Weakness
Sometimes you can have very bad luck drawing. I´m not kidding, this is your main weakness with this deck xD. If the encounter deck deals you the worst cards, specially in early game, you can have heavy trouble dealing with that or maybe you don´t draw your best cards (like Quick Shift until late game and that can be a problem too. But usually you have powerfull cards to deal with anything.
Combos
- Endurance to make Dauntless more reliable.
- Counter-Punch after basic defending in phased to return to that form, then defend again with Preemptive Strike, Jump Flip or Defiance.
- Deft Focus to play Airwalk, Shadowcat Surprise, Phase Strike, Acute Control and Intangible Interference for 1 less resource.
Strategy
Your upgrades are your priority, specially Unflappable. Use your mullingan to deal with the inmediate threats on the board and set up the best way you can (for example, vs. expert Rhino you need to focus on clearing Breakin' & Takin' ASAP). Finish your turn always in phased unleast is impossible. Use Quick Shift in phased unleast you are in mortal danger because the 2 addtional cards are much needed. Plan carefully and don´t rush, is better to control the board dealing with threat and minions than deal damage to the villian early for no reason. You will eventually defeat the villian once you got your basic set up running. Try to don´t go to alter ego unless you played Phased and Confused this turn. If you get stunned take it away with The Night Nurse or using any means necessary because being stunned mess with your Powerful Punch.
