I'm testing out a Basic suite that could easily be adjusted for each Guardian. Venom is the best natural fit, so here we are!
The focus is on card draw and allies. With Knowhere and The Triskelion, you can run up to 5 allies. With The Power in All of Us and "Welcome Aboard", it's cheap to get allies on the table. On top of that, with the ally limit of 5, you can keep Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax hanging out on the board until they are needed. Groot can take a decent number of hits, healing along the way. If his health gets too low, let him go and bring him back with Rapid Response. Until there's a good reason to use Rocket and Drax, you can get use from them with Strength In Numbers. Gamora, Ironheart, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury are all there to help get more cards in your hand, and all the Guardian allies help with card draw thanks to Knowhere.
Enhanced Awareness and Enhanced Physique are there to help guarantee Venom's status effect kickers. Don't be afraid to use them early to boost your economy on follow up turns. The Laser Blaster is there to give Locked and Loaded something to do once Venom's main guns are out.
This deck builds fast, especially if you're running with the Milano.
C.I.T.T. and Team Training are pretty optional in this build. I like them to keep allies on the board longer and get some extra use out of them if needed. Make the Call could probably be swapped in to help get Groot or Hill on the table early on.

Jul 28, 2021Basically the laser is just to give a small boost of extra damage. It’s pretty low priority to get out. Gamora is the best target, because she can help clean up minions. Tossing it on Drax isn’t terrible, especially with Team Training out. It gives up to 5 extra damage over time. Cosmo is also solid if you think he’ll be sticking around. |
Looks like a fun deck. What's the thinking behind Laser Blaster? Which ally is that intended for?
