Luke Cage is a brawler. He may be protection, but he just wants to get his friends together for a big fight.
Because it is easy to get tough statuses in alter-ego form thanks to Toughen Up and Hidden Base (alongside the Burstein Process), Luke always needs to be Ready for a Fight.
Because you aren’t worried about taking a lot of hits, Taunt is great for card draw, and Get Behind Me! is great in a nasty situation. Finally, Tackle will add some damage allow with stun statuses.
Daredevil is a cheap protection ally, while “on theme”,this one is sadly not a Defender. Iron Fist has long been on of the best 4-cost allies, and now you can use Dynamic Duo to find him along with the Power Man and Iron Fist team-up. Alternatively, Unbreakable Bond is an option.
Lay Low is great in a pinch, and Judoka Skill is just handy, and makes adding The Power of Protection worth it due to having nine 2+ cost protection cards in the deck. Definitely replaceable, if you want more events or a cheaper curve.
I have had a blast playing this deck. Luke Cage might also like the Change of Fortune archetype, but I wanted to try something new.
