Villain - "Umm, Hulk, you're not fooling anyone with that costume. We kind of know it's you."
"Ronin" - "You wrong. Hulk not Hulk. Hulk Ronin, mysterious ninja."
Villain - "Right. How could I be so dense? Are we going to do this or not?"
"Ronin" - (Heh heh, Hulk fools them all. Hulk ingenious.)
Hulk is a natural fit for the no ally playstyle and this deck leans into building up his stats, readying and bringing the pain.
Turn one, get out Innate Reflexes. This will set you up for the rest of your strategy, which is to keep building up your DEF (Ronin, Armored Vest, Defensive Conditioning) and then using it to defend against the big hits, potentially respond with "Stop Hitting Yourself", and then use one of the 8 cards in your deck that can ready Hulk. (Army of One, Limitless Stamina and Unstoppable Force).
You can also use your readies to hammer the enemy during your turn. Either with your base 3 ATK, or by using The Best Offense... to use your improved DEF stat to attack or (gasp) thwart.
Beyond that, Ronin and Electrostatic Armor combine to give you 1 retaliate and a bonus point of damage when you defend.
It's not fancy, but neither is Hulk...I mean, Ronin.

Jul 25, 2026The best offense is indeed Hulk! |
Jul 25, 2026Clarification, The Best Offense..., when paired with Leading Blow does have your damage reduced, since you are using your DEF to attack, and modifiers to ATK are ignored. Meaning you can freely use Leading Blow after playing Best Offense and deal max damage. |
Looks awesome!
