Black Cat makes a Cameo
As the title implies, this deck will use Cameo to shuffle Spider Man Peter Parker's identity-specific ally Black Cat into the deck, where it can later be found with:
- Suit Up (which finds Sidekick at the same time)
- Call for Backup, although this puts her into play, so you won't trigger her Forced Response.
- Or you might just draw into it of course
The Drawbacks:
The main drawback is that you must discard 2 cards for Cameo's ability which puts you in a hole on the first turn of the game, but you get to choose what you discard, so choose cards with resources so you can use G.I.R.L. to shuffle them back into your deck.
Black Cat's "drawback" is that you discard 2 cards from your deck after you play her, but...
- you can get around that with Call for Backup but also
- if they're you get to add them to your hand, and Wasp uses a lot of cards.
Once you have Black Cat in play give her an Inspired, Sidekick, and make good use of Leadership Skill to boost her ATK, since she doesn't take consequential damage when attacking. But since Inspired gives her +1 THW and Sidekick gives her +2 HP, you can safely thwart with her occasionally since you can heal her with:
- First Aid
- Inspiring Presence (plus a ready)
- Side-by-Side (plus a ready)
- Basic Recovery
The rest
Use Beast to grab Pym Particles unless you really need a double in the moment.
Evaluate Threat doesn't have many targets:
Maria Hill is reduced to 0-cost, so it's a fun target, but Ant-Man and Nick Fury are reduced to 2, so grab the one who's best in the moment.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
I'm still unsure how to answer that question! Losing two cards on your first turn is HUGE whether you get to shuffle them back into your deck or not, so among other things it's really going to affect your mulligan. What do you really want to see in your first hand, and can you afford to play it?
A great Wasp start is Ingenuity and a full- Moon Girl, but you'd need two double-resources (one of which must be Genius) to pull that off! Adding two copies of The Power in All of Us increases your chances, but I don't have anything I'd want to cut to add them (but might still add them???).
Turn 1 Professor X safely gives you another turn in alter-ego (assuming the villain is neither Steady nor Stalwart of course) for more card draw and another opportunity to play Ingenuity, Moon Girl, and/or Suit Up , and you'll be able to play him without a double-resource. So does that become the "default" goal here?
