"We are not his. We are our own, and I am Otherworld's true defender." —Betsy Braddock, Excalibur Vol 4 6
Psylocke likes to flip a lot to make use of her larger hand size and supports like Training Regimen and Cerebro, so defending for the table usually isn't in the cards for her, but Ready for a Fight changes that.
Flip down as often as you want to draw cards and find the allies you need, then defend for your teammates in multiple ways:
1) Tough and beefy allies block without dying, then ready up with Hangar Bay to go again.
2) Psylocke's basic attack blocks 4 damage, then ready with Martial Arts Training if you need to go again.
3) Psychic Misdirection moves an attack to an enemy.
4) Psi-Flail Strike issues a stun to stop the next attack before it starts.
The Night Nurse and Dr. Sinclair can heal any damage that slips through to you or your teammates. With you controlling the villain phase, your teammates are free to thwart and attack without ever worrying about their own lives. You are their True Defender!

Jul 04, 2025Chris Claremont, who wrote some of the best X-Men got really weird with Excalibur, where Betsy Braddock before she turned in an Asian ninja was part of t he team. Her brother is Captain Britain. Really bizarre stuff. I see her economy lets you buy lots of expensive allies. |
