War Machine is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new point-man.

This is a Justice build, but trust me when I say that we are not purely focusing on threat removal. War Machine's base kit is very attack heavy, which allows us to carry a good balance between thwarting and attacking.

The new S.H.I.E.L.D. expansion introduced Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. These 2 are great early game cards for War Machine, allowing him to search for his Tech Upgrades, then help pay for them. But what is the game plan for them after we have all of our Tech out?

This is where Homeland Intervention comes into play. Since they both have the S.H.I.E.L.D. trait, and serve no further purpose, we can exhaust them any time we draw one. Essentially, this turn into a 0 cost, 4 threat removal card. If we get Monica Chang out, who brings in Surveillance Team, we can exhaust either one of them to make it a 0 cost, 6 threat removal card. Don't have them in play yet, you can exhaust your Munitions Bunker or Helicarrier for the additional 2 threat removal. Lot of flexibility here.

In addition to Homeland Intervention, we have Clear the Area and For Justice! from the Justice Aspect, but also Targeted Strike for threat removal. Threat should be easily handled from here out.

Now for our attacks....

As mentioned before, the base kit for War Machine is pretty loaded (pun intended) with attacks. With our upgrades in play, we should be easily able to pay for them with our Gauntlet Gun's plus Helicarrier. Our Missile Launcher has the Ranged trait, meaning we can amp that damage with Directed Force whenever we draw them. 0 cost and 4 DMG with Ranged? I'll take that every time.

Usually, I stack Munitions Bunker every time I flip down, and don't remove any until I'm ready for my final push. Until then, I tend to flip down whenever I am out of ammo counters. If the stars align, I can time it with Upside the Head so that the Villain doesn't scheme when I flip to Alter-Ego. While we are on Alter-Ego, we can afford some of our expensive cards with Meditation. Don't forget, Homeland Intervention is an Action, meaning we can still use it while on Alter-Ego side.

Whenever a Villain starts making trouble, the public can breathe a sigh of relief. War Machine is on it!
