Agency Issued Artillery

It's been a lot of fun to bring the new S.H.I.E.L.D. supports to S.H.I.E.L.D. (stylized SHIELD...I'm tired of all the periods) heroes, but with 5 tech cards on his own, James Rhodes really benefits from them. Since Rhodes wants to flip to his SHIELD trait for more ammo or shuffling a card back into his deck, he can take advantage of some great alter-ego abilities.

SHIELD Tech Recursion

Thanks to James' Action, he can shuffle an identity-specific card and put it into his deck. Since Leo Fitz can grab any tech card in your deck, you can freely use your upgrades to pay for your other upgrades. Then, do the loop. For me, this takes out my main Iron Man/War Machine frustration: when you draw too many suit pieces. Then, to help bring them out, Jemma Simmons is super nice.

Rarely in a game have I been able to get both Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz out, but just having one of them (particularly Leo) has been huge for War Machine.

Fully SHIELDed and Loaded

This deck comes with tons of confuses to help you feel more comfortable flipping down in lower player counts. Vigilante Training helps you recur Upside the Head. Since there aren't a ton of thwart cards here, consider using the alter-ego ability to shuffle in Targeted Strike. In my playing, when I would flip to alter-ego, I would use that player round to shuffle in what event I'd like to see quickly. Then in the next round before I flip up, I'd shuffle the tech upgrade I want to play and grab it with Leo Fitz.

A Note on Meditation:

It's nice to have, but much like a lot of Basic, it's one-to-one. If an exhaustion is 2-ER and the card is 1-ER, then all you're really doing is converting your action into those 2-ER. It makes up the 3 resource discount.

Other thing to note, it's an action, so you can use it to play Upgrades and Allies off-turn.

@Castlefrank47 thanks so much! I’m really digging War Machine right now thanks to these supports

@josseroo yay! I’ll consider this being endorseroo’d!

@D.M.Tip thanks! I’m curious how much sideboards will be a thing the the current/legacy stuff

@boomguy hahaha, totally! I can’t believe I stooped so low to build a deck of more than 40 cards :p
