This Ghost-Spider deck is built around an aggressive defense strategy, taking full advantage of recent Nightcrawler release, to bolster her already strong green defense build. The key to success with this deck is a fast setup, mulliganing hard for Web-Bracelet to get those crucial upgrades on the board early. Once set up, Ghost-Spider becomes an extremely resilient hero, drawing around 5 cards per turn and being nearly impossible for villains to bring down.
At the heart of the deck is the "Come Get Me, Bub!" Change of Fortune combo, designed to draw in minions and trigger cards like Flow Like Water, Electrostatic Armor, and Riposte, all while keeping Ghost-Spider’s health in check through its healing avenue. This approach minimizes the need to flip to alter-ego, though Angel's Aerie offers a safety net if you do need to flip by providing a near full heal.
The damage output comes primarily from Flow Like Water, Electrostatic Armor, and the staple Pirouette and Punch, giving the deck consistent retaliatory damage while staying on defense. You can tweak the deck based on the villain you're facing, adding Desperate Defense, Not Today!, orPreemptive Strike for more defense options. Riposte is great for Change of Fortune damage, though it can be swapped out for Not Today! depending on your playstyle/scenario needs. Despite being defense-heavy, this deck cycles through cards quickly, so having a few cards over 40 is not terrible.
If you find yourself needing chump blocking (though the deck's defense rarely demands it), Spider-Man (Otto Octavius) and Silk are reliable allies to include. Depending on how many of the 1 cost defense events you're using, Nerves of Steel can be a great add to make them all the easier to play. I've alternated used a Spider-Tingle or a Nerves of Steel depending on Villain. As always, including Energy, Strength, and Genius is a great call for easy resource generation, especially to pay for those Web-Bracelet early in the game. This deck is fun, powerful, and designed to keep Ghost-Spider in control no matter what the villain throws at her. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
