Sorry, you cannot actually wield all four Swords (Drax's Knife, Drax's Other Knife and Laser Swords) at once, because you cannot have that many restricted cards. There seems to be a Star Wars theme around Laser Swords on this site, so that is what I named this deck.
Apparently there are no Drax Pool decks on this site. Is there a reason for this? Is Drax bad at Pool or something? Let's take a look:
First thing to look at is Pool's best cards. Healing Factor heals the identity every turn. Stick-To-Itiveness readies the player at the cost of a physical resource. Laser Swords give the player more attack based on bad icons. Are these good with Drax? Here's what I think.
-Healing Factor is great for staying in hero form for long periods of time, which Drax would love to do.
-Stick-To-Itiveness is awesome when combined with DWI Theet Mastery and Drax's high attack.
-Laser Swords, the staple of a lot of Pool decks. With this, Drax can reach very high levels of basic attack. Also, it has synergy with Stick-To-Itiveness.
Does this mean that Pool and Drax are perfect with each other? Well... Not really. Committing to Pool means that we cannot use any strong events that would normally be good with Drax, namely Protection events. Also we have very limited thwart options, meaning this deck will struggle without a partner. This problem is somewhat mitigated by us staying in hero form, but that means we take lots of damage, which brings us to our next problem: Mantis. Normally, when Drax runs Protection, he brings the Med Team and heals Mantis so Mantis can heal him. But, as I said earlier, we are playing Pool, which means no access to Med Team. I've sort of solved this problem with First Aid and Healing Factor. Don't use first aid on yourself, use it on Mantis unless the situation is extreme.
Strategy: It's super simple. Build up economy and basic attack stat until you have Laser Swords out, max vengeance counters, and Live Dangerously in hand. Then play Live Dangerously to make Laser Swords hit their max, and use as much of Drax's basic attack and events as possible. Gamora is great for fishing out those events.
Thank you for reading this, please leave a comment below and let me know what I did well and not so well.
(Consider putting in multiple healing factors in multiplayer and spreading them around the table.)

Feb 24, 2024Thanks! |
Feb 24, 2024Cool deck! What about Side Holster to boost how many restricted cards can be out? I really need to get some of the Star Wars decks back on the table. |
Feb 24, 2024I included it in this deck. |
Feb 24, 2024Looks fun! Adding this to my "To-Play" list like: ) I may just cheat and ignore Side Holster's 1/player limit so I can use all 4 swords for flavor. |
Feb 24, 2024Dang it, the gif didn't work. It was this one |
Yes!!! Bring on the Star Wars theme. Obi Ham, Hulk Skywalker, and Yoda Ham welcome the addition. Deck looks solid. I can’t wait to try this out and pair it with a Jedi. Thanks for posting
