Colossus Phoenix Five

Theme:

During the AvX event, Colossus became one of the five mutant hosts for the phoenix force.

In this form, he demonstrated the surprising ability to become a giant. He also had the classic Phoenix fire power. This deck illustrates those fire powers with Hand Cannon. They will also let you boost your attack power to giant proportions with Made of Rage and Follow Through.

But the phoenix is not only a force of destruction, it is also about rebirth. And Colossus also used his cosmic powers to heal the earth. After you destroy a minion with your giant overkill damage, heal yourself to full hp with a single Moment of Triumph.

Gameplay :

This is the solo version of the deck. Check here for multiplayer.

The solo version is very aggressive. No time for long set up. Basic Attack all the time, don't forget that you can trigger Moment of Triumph when defeating the villain. Sure it might be frustrating to overkill a villain, but see it like that: "villain heals when going into the next stage, well I will heal too".

Bug and Wolverine are actually Beat Cop. They will remove one threat and heal every turn. They will also help you remove tough cards from enemies. And of course, Wolverine might actually make the difference with his basic attack. Fastball Special can get you a pretty good moment of triumph too.

When both your Hp and the number of cards in your deck are low, go into alter-ego to shuffle made of rage and moment of triumph in your deck. Going in alter-ego might be a gamble...or it can be safe if the villain is confused and/or if you have armor up and organic steel. Remember that organic steel is NOT a forced response. You need tough at the right time for made of rage.

weakness:

Obviously this deck is bad against villains that keep stunning and exhausting you. Doing a quick search on MarvelCDB you can see that many villains actually don't have stun and exhaust effects. But for those annoying villains you can edit the deck to add Limitless Stamina and Unshakable.

The deck really is a gamble if the main scheme has only one stage with a low threat target. For those you could include Into the Fray or Looking for Trouble.

I mostly tested this deck against Ultron and Drang but for villains that don't unleash minions every turn, you might want to play Looking for Trouble or Angela just to have perfect moment of triumph.

Like most Colossus decks, don't go against a Villain with piercing.

I defeated Ultron Standard 3 times in a row with this deck, but for ultron expert I had to add Beat 'Em Up.
