"Parasite? Bad? Can't be bad. Wasn't bad with Flash. Fought with heroes. Was a hero. Trained another symbiote. Got to learn. Got to teach. Flash called me partner. Was never afraid like Spider-Man" Venom Symbiote: Venom Vol 1 #154

I wanted to build a deck where it will be almost impossible to hit Venom. And I came up with this one. The who idea of the deck is for, after set-up, Venom to defence against villain's attacks with Grasping Tendrils, and Rockslide will take care of any other defending needed against minions and 3rd villain attacks.

Allies

Events

What Doesn't Kill Me is the only event added in addition to the events of the core deck. It serves two purposes. It will health Venom, and Venom loses at least one HP each turn thanks to Symbiotic Bond, and it will ready Venom to take full advantage of Venom's Pistol.

Supports

Upgrades

Here things get complicated. The protection upgrades in the deck are situational and will allow once every 2 turns to have a bigger hand and play more cards.

--Here's how it works--

  • Electrostatic Armor and Unflappable will trigger only when you defend, and for Unflappable, you must also take no damage. Spider-Sense will activate only when the Villain attacks you.
  • Option 1; when the Villain attacks, if you have Grasping Tendrils in your hand, you use it and you satisfy the condition, you have defended without taking any damage.
  • Option 2; you can defend using Venom's 2 defence and still trigger at least Electrostatic Armor and then ready Venom with What Doesn't Kill Me.
  • Option 3; if there is a minion on the board, and you have enough HP to survive two attacks, let the Villain attack you, and then use Venom to defend against the minion. This way you will still trigger both Spider-Sense and Unflappable.
Dauntless should be an easy one to achieve, even while constantly using Symbiotic Bond, as Endurance and Symbiote Suit will give you additional 13 Hit Point, and with Down Time and Symbiote Suit, Flash Thompson has a recovery of 7, plus What Doesn't Kill Me, plus Med Team.

Long story-short, this is the deck. Very fun execution and plenty of creative ways to mess around with the Villain.

Nice deck. Would Jocasta help get another use out of Grasping Tendrils?

I have considered Jocasta, but I decided that I want to cycle through Guardian allies only. Feel free to include her when you play and let me know how it goes ( :

You can’t use CITT on Rockslide since he is not a guadian.
