This is a protection deck using the really obvious Porker-signalling green cards from the SP//dr deck and the Web warriors tuned to Green (ie it's by the numbers). It is about the strongest deck I have played. (It's been ages since I played Dr S and I didn't try to push him when I did). The resources spider-nonsense generates are very significant and are invested in more resources & cards in this deck because as usual the rich get richer. I rarely accumulate more than 3-4 resources & spend them liberally. This is pretty boring against regular opponents but crushes Zola & Red Skull and handles Venom Goblin & Ronan. I have lost to two attacks with 6 ATT from VG on turn one but that's just variance.
Rejects:
Spider-Man was too marginal even though he looks good.
Return the Favor was a nifty combo on paper but I still only played it to burn down the villain so cards with more impact early were good.
Jump Flip was never played.
Scarlet Spider just isn't very good.
Play: I always play a fairly controlling style, building a strong board using efficient cards. This deck plays into that. While you can let minions attack you for profit, stunning them buys you time and more resources that way, when you draw more.
Thwip! Thwip! & Cartoon Physics take the danger out of the villain's attacks. Thwip! Thwip! can also hold off big minions - the deck lacks a lot of damage so this can be handy to buy time to chip them down.
Spider-Tingle and "I dont think so!" manage the encounter deck stopping treacheries & occasionally other things, like huge minions.
Swinging Web Pig confuses allowing you to flip to AE safely and heal up - generating more resources in the process. Weirdly this is often still stressful as you cannot Spider-Tingle treacheries - you're in same boat as everyone else.
Organic Webbing provides a huge bonus allowing cheap readies and which makes healing easier as well as enabling massive thwarting and less sad damage.
Huge Wooden Hammer makes the damage output less feeble & is needed for rapidly defeating the villain, but it's not Organic Webbing
The Web Warriors do what they do.
SP//dr recurs.
Spider-Man is rather well tuned... Spider-UK can deal 20 damage, eventually, by bushwhacking minions. The others fill in when needed. The ally slots can get clogged up & I often end up using them very inefficiently eg 2 damage for 3 ER.
The Night Nurse is not super useful but never useless. Probably nice to have MP. The resource package could be changed to suit. The Power in All of Us is a joy for playing Spider-Man and once SP//dr is going it will have a use every time you draw it.
