War Machine. As the name implies, he's made for war. He's got guns in his gauntlets, a cannon on his shoulder, and even a missile launcher. But? You know what? What he really, really needs, is an AXE.

Ooh yeah.

Sometimes the old ways are the best ways. And most satisfying.

War Machine's cards don't have much synergy with many aspect or basic cards in the game - but there is at least one. Enter Jarnbjorn. War Machine swoops in with four attack cards in his hero set, but more importantly? Two upgrades which also count as attacks when activated. Each one is an opportunity to shoot that silly villain with your shiny head-chopper.

The weakness, like so many aggression decks, comes with thwarting. As such, it's best to unleash this deck against a minion-heavy villain to utilize Chase Them Down. If you draw "You'll Pay for That!" while in hero form? If it's safe, if you need to thwart, take the hit. You will be flipping to Alter-Ego to refill your ammo before long and, since War Machine's hero stats aren't that impressive, you won't miss your basic ATK and can use his REC in peace to recover from it. Endurance and Down Time help here.

Knowing when to flip to Alter-Ego is essential. Due to the lack of consistent thwarting in this deck, I recommend you make sure you have an ally or two on the field if possible before you flip down so they can start wrangling the scheme back under control.

As a Jarnbjorn deck, this deck heavily prioritizes physical cards so you shouldn't have trouble triggering Drop Kick. Don't forget that Blade is, in essence, a living Jarnbjorn too. Ideally? You should never end your turn with an unspent card - and don't forget Quincarrier, although this only works with Jarnbjorn and not Blade.

Good luck! If you use this deck, I'd love to hear how it goes. Feedback welcome.

Somehow, this write-up made me imagine War Machine in a Troll suit, swinging axes around. You've got AXE!?
