I'm meh on this card. ATM, there are 4 characters who I think the card is worth it for; Falcon, Hawkeye, Hellcat, Spider-Woman. The other avengers allies are either Aggro set so they cannot be affected by Quinjet, or they're 2 cost. For a two cost card, Quinjet just doesn't make sense. The quinjet itself costs 1, so in the majority of situations you'll need it and another card in your hand to pay for it. Then wait two turns to build up enough counters to buy Squirrel Girl or Wonderman. OR, you could just take the card you used to pay for quinjet, and quinjet itself and just buy Squirrel Girl or Wonderman without waiting the two turns. That said, quinjet does act as a quasi resource bank (limited to only buying avengers allies), so if you have one waiting, it can be easier to draw into the ally you needed and Avengers Assemble! and pay for both on the same turn. This feels really niche to me though. I have a hard time justifying the slot outside of a deck focused on using Avengers Assemble!.
Avenger. Veicolo.
I'm sad about this card. It's a fun idea, but is weak. Compare Quinjet to a resource generator like Deft Focus. Both ostensibly give you 1 ER of value every turn.
- Deft Focus gives you value every turn, including the turn you get it. The Quinjet doesn't give you value the turn it's played. Point to Deft Focus.
- Deft Focus gives value only if you have a superpower, but Quinjet only gives value if you draw the right avenger at the right time, so maybe that's a wash.
- Quinjet is discarded when it finally pays off. Point to Deft Focus.
- Having to spend all the value on a future turn is worse than spending it earlier, as the game might end before you get the full payoff for the ally.
I'd love to playtest this with either or both of the following changes: Make it cost 0. Make it not discard when used.
This card is probably still too slow for True-Solo play, but with the release of Organizational Support Quinjet has a new function. While it’s stacking up counters you can also exhaust it to generate extra resources. Quinjet is probably the best pairing for Org Support outside of the S.H.I.E.LD trait.
