Why master one fighting style when you can master everyone else's?
This is not your typical 'Pool deck. It's an Echo deck first, built around Maya Lopez's unique ability to observe, learn, and reuse powerful events — with a healthy dose of 'Pool insanity.
The goal is simple: play expensive events, turn them into damage, learn them, and play them again for less.
The Art of Imitation
The heart of the deck is the interaction between Echo's Katana, Watch and Learn, and Photographic Reflexes.
Most of our events have deliberately high printed costs. That's a feature, not a drawback!
- Echo's Katana rewards those expensive events by dealing damage based on their printed cost.
- Watch and Learn lets Echo tuck those events beneath her identity.
- Photographic Reflexes lets her play those learned events again with a substantial discount.
- Choreography helps find the right event for the situation.
- Improvisation adds even more punch to the engine.
Switching between Hero and Alter-Ego forms keeps the cycle going: recover a learned event, return to Hero form, learn another technique, and repeat.
The first performance is expensive. The encore is a bargain.
Explosive Improvisation
Da Bomb and 'Pool Inspection are perfect examples of what this deck wants to accomplish.
Play a powerful event, let Echo's Katana turn its cost into additional damage, then learn the event and use Photographic Reflexes to unleash it again.
Mulligan is another fantastic tool. It can deal 3 damage through the Katana while refreshing your hand, accelerating your deck, or helping you find Echo's Katana early.
Meanwhile, Hit and Run provides flexible damage and threat removal, and the other events give Echo plenty of options regardless of what her teammates bring.
The Devil You Know
Dynamic Duo brings a wonderfully thematic combination to the table: Daredevil and See No Evil, Hear No Evil.
The Team-Up lets you choose twice between dealing 3 damage and removing 3 threat. That means:
- 6 damage.
- 6 threat removed.
- Or 3 damage and 3 threat removed.
And because it's an event, Echo can learn it with Watch and Learn and replay it through Photographic Reflexes.
Daredevil also reduces the cost of an event by 1 resource when using his ability.
That's where Joys of Life becomes especially interesting. Ready Daredevil to benefit from his ability again, or ready another player's hero whose basic powers can make an even bigger difference.
The deck doesn't just imitate its teammates. It helps them shine, too.
Better Together
Echo is perfectly capable of operating with her own events, but multiplayer is where her personality truly emerges.
Thanks to Study the Tape and her identity mechanics, she can take advantage of events from other players' decks.
An event that was never part of your original strategy can suddenly become your best move.
That's the beauty of Echo: her fighting style changes depending on who she's fighting alongside.
And because this is a 'Pool deck, she's surrounded by a delightfully questionable but perfectly legal collection of allies, including Bob, Agent of Hydra, Deadpool, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Final Thoughts
This deck combines several things I love about Marvel Champions:
Creative deckbuilding, meaningful form changes, powerful synergies, thematic allies, and unpredictable multiplayer interactions.
It's not about playing the strongest generic 'Pool cards. It's about making the 'Pool aspect work with Echo's identity rather than replacing it.
She watches. She learns. She copies.
And sometimes, she throws a bomb.
Watch. Learn. BOOM!
