Hello everyone, I’m a player from Korea who enjoys playing the Marvel Champions card game. Please bear with me as I used a translator! I mostly enjoy playing True Solo campaigns, and since I recently managed to barely clear the Sinister Motives Expert/Expert I campaign using a Spider-Woman deck, I wanted to share my deck recipe. First of all, I want to point out that Spider-Woman is neither the strongest nor the most suitable hero for true soloing the Sinister Motives campaign (for example, Web Warrior Fanatic’s Leadership Silk deck would be much easier for clearing it), and this might not even be the most powerful deck for Spider-Woman. True solo expert campaigns are an extremely challenging difficulty, and I only recommend them to players who want to experience that Dark Souls-like fun (endless trials until you finally clear it) in Marvel Champions. I would like to mention that this deck was inspired by Wickedpedia’s Spider-Woman deck, "Queen of Cards." The basic concept is to take the villain's attacks using the Multiple Man, Avenge Me, and Righteous Purpose combo, quickly defeat pre-set side schemes and minions, build up fast through card draw, maximize your campaign score, and then finish the game. • Starting Hand: You must make sure to draw into Multiple Man and at least one copy of Avenge Me on turn one. Actively utilize Suit Up and Double Resources. • Turn Two: Make the most powerful and efficient play possible with a hand of 7 cards. • Avengers Mansion: Whenever possible, play this using Evaluate Threat. • Ant-Man: If you have Righteous Purpose, he can enter play with 1 health and immediately be used for 4 thwart / 4 attack, making him very strong. • Honorary Avenger: This helps Jessica Drew play Avenge Me even if she flips to alter-ego, but you will rarely fetch it with Suit Up. • Brother Voodoo and Daredevil: These are primarily used to thwart immediately upon entry to drop to 1 health, allowing them to receive the buff from Righteous Purpose. • Recommendation: If you are not familiar with the deck and hero, I recommend playing against Rhino Expert and Ultron Expert once each first. Before playing the Sinister Motives Expert campaign, please be warned that it requires an immense amount of effort, time, trials, and luck. Only take on this challenge if your sole purpose is to clear the Sinister Motives Expert campaign with Spider-Woman.
- Sandman
• Turn 1 Strategy: Exhaust the 3-THW/3-ATK Spider-Woman to remove a sand counter. Take Sandman’s indirect damage attacks using 3 defense and Multiple Man's 6 health pool. • Because Sandman's hazard/detention rating is low, don't hesitate to flip to alter-ego. Use Jessica Drew's ability to check the top card of the encounter deck; if the boost icon is low, you can just play Ready for a Fight and hold onto it. • Play Righteous Purpose as early as possible, and use your allies' boosted attack values to quickly remove sand counters. If you can manage your game so that identity takes minimal indirect damage from Sandman, you'll clear it smoothly. • Best Campaign Upgrade (Shield Tech):Wrist Navigator is the absolute best choice. The rest feel pretty mediocre.
- Venom
• Core Card:Night Crawler. Simply let him shrug off Venom's attacks, which come loaded with boost cards. • Your top priority on turn one is clearing the side scheme rather than deploying Multiple Man. Deploy shield-fodder allies as appropriate and clear the side scheme ASAP. Don't forget that Spider-Woman’s Venom Blast can deal damage while also removing 5 threat. If your defense value is decent from playing aspect cards, you can afford to take a hit and survive on low health. You can heal everything back later. Once you get past the early game, it's not a big deal. • Pheromones is essentially a dead card here. Unless you are swimming in resources, make better plays instead. • If your campaign score exceeds 11 points, I recommend Multitasking for its Aspect Bonus. It isn't super useful for the first 4 stages, but it truly shines in Stage 5.
3. Mysterio
• Core Card:Black Widow. The key here is using Black Widow to discard encounter cards with Deja Vu or Surge. If you can't deploy Multiple Man on turn one, remember to defeat the minion using your 1 attack before playing cards in hero form.
• Get rid of the Venom (Ally) as quickly as possible. Using Multiple Man to clear him out is also a good option. Taking an extra encounter card in True Solo is devastating. You must achieve a campaign score of 17 or higher here! Otherwise, you won't be able to add Righteous Purpose to your starting hand.
- Sinister Six
• Core Card:Righteous Purpose. • This scenario requires numerous attempts. On turn one, use Spider-Woman and Venom's attacks to bring Decoy's health down to 2. Then, deploy Multiple Man and Righteous Purpose using double resources (you can give up Avenge Me, and get rid of the Venom ally). Attack twice to eliminate Decoy and bring the side scheme's threat up to 9. On the next turn, use three Multiple Men with 3 thwart each to clear the side scheme (if you have a hand that can boost Spider-Woman's stats to 3, you can use a Multiple Man to block an attack from the villain once). • If you fail to pull off this sequence, I can't guarantee you'll be able to win. Good luck! If you have completed a campaign score of 25 (it's okay if you haven't—I didn't manage it either), you can swap one copy of Ready for a Fight for Mitigated Threat. Attach Mitigated Threat to your Venom Suit.
5. Venom Goblin
• Core Cards:Multitasking and Black Widow. • Honestly, you need a lot of luck here. If the Glider is attached right from the early game, just restart. Once your build-up is complete, use Black Widow to keep the Glider in check. Use Multitasking to manage the main scheme. The Glider came out twice in my run: the first time, I cycled through my entire deck to find two Venom Blasts and detach it, and the second time, I just killed him that very turn. To be honest, this requires the strongest, most efficient, and precise decision-making, coupled with a massive number of trial runs to bend the luck to your will. Clearing it brings an incredible rush of adrenaline, but it is not mandatory.
