This is a protect the table deck that relies on allies to do most of the actual defending, leaving Spider-Man free to use The Best Offense... to land some big attacks or thwarts.
First thing, improve your DEF. This is right there in your first hand with Innate Reflexes. You also have Armored Vest and Defensive Conditioning to get you up to 6 eventually. Anyone who hits harder than that, and you can start using your Ops Room cards to mitigate the excess, while nibbling away at threat.
Speaking of threat, you can also use Get Their Attention when attacked to further manage it, and Spider-Man will draw a card on top of it to help you still have cards in hand for your turn. If threat is covered by a teammate, you can swap these out for Powerful Punch to improve your damage output.
Your allies are the key to your defense with this deck, and your best choice is Echo. Once your DEF is high enough, she can block most attacks, even villain attacks with ease, then ready using Hangar Bay to do it again for someone else. Victor Mancha can shut down 1 ATK minions, and even stop bigger ones using Ops Room. Working alongside these two, Swordsman gives you another option, stepping in after waiting for the boost card and using Stronger Together to fend it off. You other allies can pitch in as you set up, and Black Cat can stick around and chew up Tough cards, but for a wall of defense, getting those three out will let you stop a lot of damage without ever exhausting Spider-Man.
While this deck can work in solo against the right opponent, lots of guard minions or toughs can really limit your ability to deal damage.
