Control the threat. Solve the side schemes. Gather the evidence. Then end the villain.

The heart of this deck is Alias Investigations.

Jessica doesn't necessarily need to race the villain's health down in the traditional way. Instead, the goal is to slowly build Evidence on Alias Investigations throughout the game.

Once you have enough Evidence to match the villain's remaining hit points:

Case closed.

Remove the Evidence and defeat the villain's current stage.

So the whole deck is built around one question:

How quickly and consistently can Jessica gather Evidence?

Start With 4 THW

Jessica is naturally excellent at controlling threat, and this deck leans heavily into that strength.

Innate Perception is a Starting upgrade, so you can put it into your hand before drawing your opening hand.

That means Jessica can begin the game with 4 THW immediately.

This makes her extremely consistent from turn one and lets her handle most smaller side schemes with a single basic thwart.

And for Jessica, defeating side schemes isn't just threat control.

It's progress toward winning the game.

Side Schemes = Evidence

The deck contains 7 Player Side Schemes because they work perfectly with Alias Investigations.

Whenever a side scheme is defeated, Alias Investigations can exhaust to gain 2 Evidence.

The four cheaper Player Side Schemes are there to give Jessica easy targets when the board is under control.

Play one.

Thwart it.

Take its reward.

And add another 2 Evidence.

You're effectively converting Jessica's excellent THW into a second win condition.

The Bigger Cases

Specialized Training and Lay the Trap require a little more work, but offer much stronger rewards.

Specialized Training is particularly useful for the team, giving players access to powerful Specialization upgrades.

Lay the Trap turns Jessica's excess thwarting power into 5 damage to the villain when completed.

And both still do the most important thing:

They trigger Alias Investigations.

So even when Jessica is spending an entire turn solving a Player Side Scheme instead of attacking the villain, she is still moving toward the end of the game.

Predictable Ploy

Once you've defeated a Player Side Scheme that enters the victory display, Predictable Ploy becomes one of your best defensive tools.

Keep it available for the encounter phase and you can cancel the When Revealed effects of a troublesome treachery.

This gives Jessica something very valuable:

Control.

You're already controlling the schemes. Now you also have an answer ready for some of the encounter deck's nastiest surprises.

The Game Plan

The deck is very straightforward:

  1. Start with Innate Perception and reach 4 THW.
  2. Keep the main scheme under control.
  3. Play Player Side Schemes whenever you have breathing room.
  4. Defeat them to gain their rewards and 2 Evidence from Alias Investigations.
  5. Keep Predictable Ploy ready once it's online.
  6. Keep gathering Evidence while the team plays normally.
  7. When Evidence catches the villain's remaining HP — Case Closed.

That's what I like most about Jessica Jones.

She doesn't feel like a superhero waiting for the perfect attack card.

She feels like an investigator.

Every scheme you solve gives you another piece of evidence.

Every turn you keep the board under control gets you closer.

And eventually, Jessica has enough evidence to put the villain away for good.

You don't need to beat them down.

You just need to prove the case.
