“Oh my God, Becky, look at her DEF. It is so big.”

This deck is all about one thing, that high DEF. The main goal is to build up a high DEF value, and then using The Best Offense to Attack or Thwart as much as possible.

The focus of the early game is to play all the upgrades that stack DEF, starting with Innate Reflexes that is guaranteed to start in your opening hand. You also want to get her key Hero upgrades into play as well, including Muscle Memory, Choreography, and American Sign Language into play in that order. This build doesn’t really use either the Katana or Improvisation as key parts since the events are cheap and only one has an Attack trait. Feel free to block while doing this to spare your HP and use Army of One to ready and take out threats. It certainly helps during the setup turns to be multiplayer and to “borrow” events from your friends to play.

Once you are all set the real magic happens. Your goal is to play as many Army of One and Leading Blow events as possible while having The Best Offense out. That means you’ll want to tuck as many of those as you can under Echo using Watch and Learn. Army of One is excellent for Threat removal while Leading Blow is for attacking.

An excellent interaction here is that when you play Leading Blow while The Best Offense is out, you use your DEF stat, so the ATK reduction doesn’t phase you at all.

Rounding out the events are Assess the Situation to help you set up for a big turn. Can also be endlessly cycled once per turn with Muscle Memory. Electrostatic Armor for chip damage. Superpower Training to help you get out the upgrades. Night Nurse if you get stunned or confused. Stand Alone in case you are attacked more than once. Unflappable because drawing cards is fun. Ready for a Fight will allow you to go to alter ego when necessary while preventing threat from building up too badly.

If you really want to boost the DEF further you can include Specialized Training and/or Symbiote Suit but I find them a bit slow unless you’re playing multiplayer, in which case your Justice friend can bring the side schemes.

Lastly, you might ask why I didn’t include In Harms Way since it’s a high Def build? Shaddup and let me cook! Also, you can probably tossed a few cards to add them if you want.
