Remy LeBeau, Dean of Admissions (Con of Heroes 2026)

Mr. LeBeau is making everyone an X-Men and the whole table is benefiting!

Here's a deck concept I have been theory-building for this year's Con of Heroes and I would welcome feedback from folks with more multiplayer experience (I usually play solo or 2p). The shell is a pretty familiar Gambit Change of Fortune deck. Lots of ways to deal damage in the villain phase, especially Protection attack events that benefit from Gambit's charge counters.

Stronger Together and Honorary X-Men are the deck's secret sauce. By making everyone X-Men, I can use Stronger Together to reduce an attack's damage by 3-5 points, depending on how many other defense-boosting upgrades I have in play. Admittedly, Stronger Together doesn't do much until at least one copy of Honorary X-Men is on the table, but I'm hoping 3x copies of each will make that smoother. I have to think having even just one Honorary X-Men on the board will give the deck, and table, a lot of value.

I considered trying this deck concept with Nightcrawler. He can reach up to 6 DEF with his cutlasses and BAMF makes him a very reliable defender. In my experience, Protection Nightcrawler can struggle with damage. Gambit can reach similar defense numbers while comboing better with Change of Fortune and having more ways to deal damage in the hero phase. This deck is pretty atrocious at thwarting, but hopefully one of my fellow X-Men will be able to help with that :)
