Avengers (1963) #9, the first appearance of Wonder Man!

Baron Zemo, the Executioner, and the Enchantress scheme on how to defeat the Avengers. They notice in the news that Simon Williams, arrested for embezzling money, blames Tony Stark. Agreeing to help him get revenge, they take Williams to the Amazon, using a machine on him which makes him all-powerful. To keep him under control, Zemo admits the augmentative radiotherapy also poisons him and only he has the antidote.
They stage a battle against the Avengers where Wonder Man aids the Avengers, to earn their trust. He explains the illness he has and the Avengers work to find a cure. The Wasp is taken captive and the Avengers go to save her, only to be betrayed by Wonder Man. The villains come close to defeating the Avengers, until Wonder Man turns on Zemo. His change of heart is due to the heroes striving to save him, even though they didn't know him.

Avengers ally roster from the comic:
Iron Man (Tony Stark)
Thor (Odinson)
Giant-Man (Hank Pym) - this deck has Giant-Man and Ant-Man (Hank Pym).
Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) - in the comic she's captured, so not an ally in the deck.
This deck is designed to face Baron Zemo from the Agents of SHIELD box with the Enchantress and Frost Giants modular sets from The Mad Titan's Shadow. Given the storyline, the Avengers team here and not Wonder Man are doing most of the heavy lifting.

To have the whole team assembled, both The Triskelion and Avengers Tower are on hand. Avengers Compound is mentioned in the comic and is useful here to hold Captain America or Giant Man until the resources are available to play them. Call for Backup is a significant cost savings for this expensive ally roster. Their stats are boosted by Mighty Avengers, Team Training, Inspired upgrades, and several more upgrades targeted for Iron Man (Power Gloves, Reinforced Suit, Sky Cycle).
These energy resource events are solid for the team but also as cards to tuck under Ionic Physiology: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Teamwork, and Unified Strike.
