Another week, another card. I am trying to get into my groove of deckbuilding and writing. Today's attempt is Even the Odds.

First, when looking to use EtO I wanted to find a way to maximize hitting the requirement. When scrolling the list of cards there were several that caught my eye.

Turn the Tide – Cheap and rewards for doing what you want to do (thwart).

Followed – Another "better when doing what you want to be doing" card.

But one trait popped up a few times, Aerial

Yaw and Roll – Helps clear threat to aid in defeating schemes to maximize EtO. Eyes in the Sky – Limited use to help manage encounter cards. Quasar – A good Justice hero who aids threat removal.

The Power of Flight – Doesn't aid in thwarting, but makes those Aerial cards cheaper.

Who Do You Think of When You Think Aerial?

For me its OG X-Man turned Agent of Death X-Force Member [Warren Worthington III](/card/42001b).

He has plenty of aerial cards and plenty of ways to use them. Being in hero mode alone draws him cards when he plays aerial events. How to Maximize the Aerial Cards
Adaptive Plumage – Versatile card that also gives out conditions. Natural Flight – card that can get around Patrol. Techno-Organic Wings – Another card that rewards you for being Angel (which leads to card draw).
Now round out the deck
Manifold – Helps grab more side schemes to target with EtO. Captain Britain – A standout (if a bit expensive) side scheme clearer. Build Support – Goes and gets [Beat Cop](/card/10029). Superpower Training – Goes and gets [Techno-Organic Wings](/card/42010).

Deck Caveats
I am still getting my feet under me deck-building wise, so I may have the balance off. It may be too thwart heavy, but Archangel helps that a bit with his ability to do damage when you play thwart events. And yes, I may go a bit too hard in the paint with icons, but I wanted to stay on theme. Because that's the goal for me in the end, stay on theme. Have fun. Maybe play something non-standard. And play as much X-Force as possible!
⚠️ Warning: This deck contains 42 cards. Play at your own risk. ⚠️

For working on your deck building, I'd say this is pretty solid overall. I don't think you have too much thwart. I see Even the Odds shine best in multiplayer and it's good to mix in some bursts of big thwarting as well. My only recommendation for this specific hero is to include Agile Flight. 3 for 5 is 'okay', but you can split it to set up an Even the Odds, and it also triggers Angel of Life/Death.

I love the 42-card warning, lol. There are plenty of 40-card purists out there, but I'm in the 41+card group. It really lets you fit in some cool stuff and provides better utility in multiplayer.

Cheers!
