To be paired with Black Panther - Pounce Early and Often (https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/58156/bp-sl-pounce-early-and-often-1.0)

General Approach for the deck pair
The general approach for these 2 decks is for Black Panther to lead the fight on the front lines, wiping out minions and chipping away at the first villain stage. Star-Lord focuses on handling the threat in the early rounds. Once built up, the heroes can deliver enough damage to finish the villain second stage in ideally one shot, sometimes two. Star-Lord should try not to abuse "What Could Go Wrong?" until time to push damage at the end.

Star-Lord deck synopsis

Priority cards: Element Gun, Okoye, Aneka/Ayo, Comms Implant/Leader of the Guardians

Damage output: Designed for 30+ final round damage
Of course Star-Lord can push strong damage early, but the idea here is for the Dora Milaje to teach him some discipline, while he shares Guardian tech with them. Once 2 or 3 DM allies are on the board, a hand with Sliding Shot, Blaze of Glory and Daring Escape will do 30+ damage to finish the final villain stage quickly. Element Gun is very useful early on for additional minion control and tough removal, and is essential at the end to execute Sliding Shot. It's OK to use "What Could Go Wrong" on the first hand to play an ally and Element Gun, but otherwise try not to use it until the final damage push. Remember Quill can swap a card with the top of his deck in Alter-Ego, so use that if your hand is full of too many essential pieces.

Thwart potential: Strong, once established
With Leader of the Guardians and Comms Implants, as well as a well-timed Blaze of Glory, it's easy for Star-Lord and the allies to keep threat under control. Bad card draw in the early rounds can make this a challenge, so mulligan hard for a Dora Milaje ally or Leader of the Guardians.

Ally support: Essential
As noted, the Dora Milaje allies are key to controlling threat, as well as the final damage burst with a Blaze of Glory. I often use Aneka and Ayo first, then activate Okoye's ability on herself. White Wolf is here for theme, but is a nice damage option. Nova Prime is not likely to see the field unless you get a shot with Joining Forces.

Damage mitigation/healing: Almost none
You want to keep your allies around until the end of the game, so chump block only in an emergency. You may need to flip frequently to recover. Black Panther may defend for Star-Lord, and has some stun capability, as well as an extra Endurance to share.

Economy/Card Draw: Modest
Aside from the 3 double resources and WCGW?, there's not a lot of extra economy here, and card draw is simply the built-in Daring Escape from his own kit. Still, it rarely seems to be an issue. You'll likely play a 3-cost card like an ally from your hand and feed the left over card to Element Gun while you build your board.
