So this deck first came together with the idea of "Okay what if I use Hard Knocks to give Wolverine Tough cards and then block the damage from using Wolverine's Claws to do more attacks?" And unfortunately it doesn't work like that: Logan does still have to deal damage to himself to get that cost reduction and all the other nice things his claws do.

The good news is I really think this is Wolverine's best aspect. Protection wants you to stay in hero mode, Logan wants to stay in hero mode, and cards like Hard Knocks, Polaris, What Doesn't Kill Me and Momentum Shift make that a lot easier. For Threat removal, we've got Black Widow, Nick Fury, Not Today! and Bait and Switch for an absolute emergency. Surprisingly, Protection also really enjoys Logan's potentially huge attack stat with Counter Punch and Leading Blow. I've also added in Specialized Training to make this more playable in scenarios that need more thwart or whatever else.

In my testing, this deck has done very well in most Solo Scenarios. It wasn't uncommon for me to flip to Hero mode at the start and never look back after that.

I'll consider these cards when I have the Nightcrawler Pack: "Come Get Me, Bub!", Riposte, Rogue, Gambit. Colossus and Fastball Special are mostly just in here for fun.

If you want to cut down to 40, I'd remove Nightcrawler, Armor, Colossus, Fastball Special, Utopia (you won't need it with fewer allies), both copies of Counter Punch, Endurance (you can use Specialized Training if you really need more HP), and one copy each of Protective Training and Bait and Switch.
