In the wake of Krakoa's demise, anti-mutant sentiment intensified around the globe. The Avengers, acknowledging a need for a well-known mutant voice on the team, recruited Oro Monroe. Former Queen of Wakanda and leader of the X-Men, Storm joins the new team as Earth's Mightiest Mutant.
This deck features the Avengers allies from the comic book cover available in Leadership: Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Falcon, Iron Man, and Vision. Each with high cost, Squared Off is on hand to help bring them in to play. Avengers Tower further lowers the cost of each by one. Rapid Response rescues them from the discard pile, triggering put in to play effects on Black Panther, Captain Marvel, or Falcon. The ally upgrades are intended to voltron Iron Man, with an extra Inspired and Reinforced Suit to keep Vision in play with his ability activated by spending an energy resource. Team Training boosts every ally by one hit point. Teamwork adds their powers to Storm's, thus avoiding consequential damage.
The Mistress of the Elements is able to effectively control the board state with her weather deck. Intentional sequencing can optimize the Avengers team, each gaining additional attack during the hero phase and retaliate during the villain phase. Lastly, she has Clarity of Purpose, Deft Focus, and X-Gene, along with her signature Crown, to play her powerful identity-specific event cards and manage her weather deck.
This 44 card deck was tested once on standard against Rhino. Storm is very powerful and it's hard to have a bad time with her. Even with Avenger's Tower on the bottom of the deck and never entering play, Squared Off plus her multiple resource options got every ally into play at least once. Rapid Response recurred Iron Man who did early work without any upgrades, putting him back in play as the upgrades appeared later. Call for Backup was cleared easily to bring in Captain Marvel for a bit of damage, but sadly no stun. The energy resources are there for this ability and Vision, which can also be powered up consistently by Clarity of Purpose or using Storm's Crown on Clear Skies or Thunderstorm.
To me, my Avengers!
