Psylocke is a master of stealth, and she just got some new tech to take that to the next level. I hope you like fuchsia butterflies...OF PAIN!!
I've been a Psylocke fan since I got a good look with her kit, and she quickly became my go-to psionic hero. Psychic Manipulation being one of my favorite psionic events. Some recent cards in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. wave, particularly Black Panther's hero pack, have really taken that card's consistency to the next level.
I'm talking about Invisibility Gear! This card does so much for Psylocke's survivability and control playstyle. We dodge attacks by using this amazing technology, and force a scheme for us to play Psychic Manipulation, even in solo!
We also brought Sting Operation along to help with minion control. We can clear minions in Alter Ego by forcing them to scheme and go away!
In my testing, I've found I am often able to either use Invisibility Gear or Psionic Redirect to avoid villain attacks, and come back swinging. Telekinesis and Psimitar as usual bring the damage, but also Psylocke is often standing more, with damage pressure mitigated. she and her allies are more able to use their basic activations!
For allies, we have:
- Eros - to confuse minions and set up Sting Operation
- Quake - to help with some damage while flipped down
- Dazzler - More confuse to either flip or using Invisibility Gear
- Chamber - one of our buddies to hurt all these confused friends.
So go ahead, bad guys, scheme away. Just be careful if you happen to see any tiny fuchsia butterflies nearby, because you might find yourself foiling your own plans!

Jul 29, 2025@caldias huge Psylocke fan here too, I had been meaning to do something like this with psychic Manipulation but hadn't gotten around to it. Looks fantastic! |
Jul 29, 2025This was so cool when we played it today! I was about to ask for a copy of it. Thanks for publishing! Gonna play this one! |
Jul 29, 2025Oh man I love Psychic Manipulation! Will have to give this a try. |

Jul 29, 2025Confused (heh) as to how Eros and Sting Operation interact? If a confused minion tries to scheme and fails, does it still count as having schemed? |

Confuse is a replacement effect. It completely will replace the scheme. So sting operation cannot fire. |

Jul 29, 2025Aha, that makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying! |
Jul 30, 2025I've not played with it yet, but I can't get the point in Invisibility Gear. Which is the advantage in the villain scheming while you are in Hero form?. Wouldn't be more efficient just flip to Alter Ego which will also grant you a higher hand-size? I would understand if Psychic Manipulation were a hero action, but I can't see the advantage in using Invisibility Gear instead of flipping to Alter Ego. |
Jul 30, 2025For once... assuming you do flip to alter ego regularily, you will also have to flip back to hero form, to use your hero abilities. And when you do that, you cannot just flip back to alter ego in the same round. And if you draw Psychic Manipulation in one of those rounds, it is quite often a dead card. Invisibilty Gear will solve that. |
Jul 30, 2025Woooie, this is a hot one. I love the intentional Psychic Manipulation trigger. |
Jul 30, 2025Still not convinced of it, as with Psylocke I usually want to flip each round because his hand size of 4 in hero form. But I'm sure is just me not seeing the whole picture. I'll have to try it and see how it works! |

Jul 31, 2025@wehehe I wouldn't always flip with Psylocke....In my opinion, sometimes the free resources are enough to stay |

The Psychic Manipulation and Invisibility Gear is a really clever loop!
