The Apocalypse Solution

I've been reading Rick Remender's run on Uncanny X-Force and so have decided to try and recreate it in deck form. It's inspired by the first two TPBs, The Apocalypse Solution and Deathlok Nation - at the bottom of this there's a suggestion on what scenario and modulars to play it against for maximum (albeit slightly mish-mashed) theme.

I've gone for a Leadership deck, as Fantomex and Uncanny X-Force are both Leadership cards. Deathlok and Deadpool are both Neutral so are included. Angel and Psylocke are each other's signature allies, so the only team member we're missing is Wolverine. I settled on Angel over Psyloke as even though she';d allow me to play Psychic Kicker, Angel's more of the team leader in the comics and so theme won out over function.

With Psylocke having the ability to heal after attacking, Fantomex having near-constant access to healing via E.V.A and Deadpool also sticking around, the deck is built around getting Inspired and/or Sidearm onto them and letting them do the fighting, whilst Angel thwarts or defends (or does both, once Techno-Organic Wings is in play). Deathlok is a solid back-up option, getting an upgrade for free, but not having the longevity of the other three.

The deck probably suffers a little bit from not having access to things like Danger Room Training, or Inspiring Presence. But leaning into X-Force does give us access to a decent amount of (situational and/or potentially damaging) card draw. Also, once you have Uncanny X-Force in play, if Fantomex needs some healing, thwart a side-scheme and then use E.V.A to heal him. Do keep an eye on Psylocke's health, though. I was messing around with Advanced Suit to keep her around longer, but ultimately cut it.

For maximum theme, this deck should be played against En Sabah Nur, with Clan Akkaba and Reavers modulars. Then, either add Deathstrike as an extra modular, or (if you don't want to add more modulars than the scenario states) replace your Nemesis set (but not your obligation) with X-23's nemesis set. Do both if you really want to fight Lady Deathstrike.
