Web-Warrior Fanatic 2099

This deck is a part of a custom gameplay/deckbuild request from Zylokun, a fellow web-warrior fanatic. His challenge, "A Spider's Nightmare" requires that we take on the Sinister Six with a web-warrior hero ending the game with at least 3 web-warrior allies in play. Click here for the playthrough demonstration of how the web-warrior shenanigans work in this deck.

Basically Cheating

If you don't like Doctor Strange because he's too strong, I wouldn't recommend this deck because it's basically cheating. Spider-Man 2099 is a crazy new card that can recur web-warrior allies and our main target in this deck is Madame Web. When she's played, Madame Web manipulates the encounter deck by X cards where X is equal to the number of web-warrior cards you have in play. Typically X = 3 with Madame Web herself, the Web of Life and Destiny, and Silk. Once Spider-Man 2099 is out, X will be at least 4. This lets us predetermine the villain's boost/encounter cards, then next turn Spider-Man 2099 uses his response to return Madame Web back to hand, we draw a card with the Web of Life Destiny and play her back down to predetermine all the encounter cards again. The moment these key pieces are in play, Silk controls the rest of the game.

Silky Synergy

Any hero can include Madame Web/Spider-Man 2099 in their deck, so what makes Silk stand out? Cindy Moon gets extra benefit from scrying because of Silk Sense, her hero ability that allows her to tuck minions/side schemes she defeats. Silk Sense also allows Silk to tuck treacheries that she resolves (but only in hero form since it's her hero ability). With Madame Web every turn, we forcibly make sure that we only reveal treacheries in hero form, and deal ourselves encounter cards that are weak minions/side schemes to fuel Silk's tucked card engine. Silk's Eidetic Memory further synergizes with this because we can manipulate the encounter deck to make sure we get an encounter card from the same set as a card tucked under Silk (usually a weak minion) and keep dealing that minion to ourselves over and over again which not only neuters the villain but constantly fuels Silk Sense.

Stalwart Killer

This deck does not care about steady/stalwart and does not rely on statuses. With full control of the encounter deck, we can flip down to alter-ego safely every turn because Silk makes sure the boost card is low and makes sure the encounter card is not an Advance.

Allies Stay Forever & No Need to Chump-Block

Often times we want to just tank the villain's attacks straight on and not block with allies since we can set a low boost card for the attack and easily heal back up with Albert Moon and the readying from Organic Webbing. This keeps our powerful web-warrior allies like Miguel O'Hara and Spider-Man Peter Parker in play essentially forever. When either of these allies would be defeated from consequential damage, use Spider-Man 2099's ability to "heal" them by returning them to hand. This will only happen once every few turns and Command Team/Peter Parker can ready up Miguel for him to activate again to return another web-warrior (Madame Web) to hand. Each time a web-warrior ally leaves play we draw with the Web of Life Destiny and get back resources to play them back down. Don't forget that Spider-Man 2099's ability can be used on himself!

Investigative Journalism

Since the Spider-Man Peter Parker ally is essentially in play every turn,, Investigative Journalism is a reliable team-up card to cancel a scheme activation and further adds to helping Silk flip down safely. If the villain isn't stalwart, this confuses them on top of the cancel but that's just overkill.

The Triskelion

The max ally limit of 3 can often be can issue since Miguel O'Hara and Spider-Man Peter Parker are usually in play every turn so the Triskelion is a must to increase the ally limit and have 2 slots for allies like Madame Web to rotate in and out.

Suit Up & Moon Girl

Using Suit Up to tutor Moon Girl and Clarity of Purpose (a mental resource to pay for Moon Girl) is one of the strongest combos for genius traited heroes. Because of her card draw, Moon Girl is a 2 thwart/2 attack ally that is essentially free to play (she has a cost of 3 but can draw back 3 cards). She's 1 effective resource to play since you lose 1 physical card from your hand (Moon Girl herself). When you use Suit Up to play Moon Girl, she's basically 2 effective resources to play which still makes her the most efficient ally in the game. Suit Up works perfectly with Silk since it's an alter-ego action and Silk has incredible alter-ego access with this deck (because of Madame Web and Investigative Journalism) but there's even more synergy through Cindy Moon's alter-ego action where she can discard a tucked card to draw 2 more cards. This is even more card draw/resources to stack with Moon Girl.
