Thor the THWARTING MACHINE
Versus Expert Thanos with recommended mods and elite minions only
Thor is traditionally a terrible thwarter, but with Infiltration his thwart ability becomes GODLY. Being able to remove 5 threat with a 1 cost event, AND he gets a minion to trigger his hero ability and draw 2 cards?! With this card, Thor wants a bunch of side schemes that he can clear to build out his board, so we loaded in a bunch. Build Support can grab Quincarrier/Helicarrier/Asgard, Superpower Training can grab God of Thunder or Thor's Helmet, and Specialized Training can be cleared with 1 Infiltration and also improves Thor's economy. I would recommend grabbing either Surveillance Specialist or Combat Specialist depending on the scenario. If you're "lucky," Infiltration doesn't hit any minions and you're removing 5 threat with a 1 cost event. If you're even more lucky, you'll hit a minion for Thor to engage and draw cards.
Building Out
Thor wants to get his resource generators like the God of Thunder/Quincarrier/Helicarrier/Asgard in play ASAP to mitigate his low handsize. This deck facilitates Thor quickly building out through card draw from "Have at Thee!" (minion summoning with Infiltration and Defender of the Nine Realms) and One Way or Another. The player side schemes increase the consistency of Thor getting his economy cards in play and while he normally would struggle clearing side schemes, Infiltration clears every player side scheme in one go in true solo, including Specialized Training!
Ally Selection
The allies here are just big thwarters, same as in any other Thor deck. This makes the deck more reliable when Thor doesn't have any Infiltrations in hand. Vivian is there to blank out Loki if we summon him through Face the Past.
Late Game
Because of all the upgrades/supports/side schemes, we're fine going up on the decksize so Thor's deck isn't too thinned late game. The Raft will give us consistent "Have at Thee!" procs late game.
Show of Empathy
This new card is very thematic with Thor and Loki on the art and it works REALLY well on Loki since he is not an elite minion. Loki has an annoying forced interrupt that has a chance to prevent him from getting defeated but Show of Empathy will bypass that and turn him into an ally. Face the Past will summon Loki and Infiltration can clear off enough threat to redeem Loki in one go.

Thanks again for this one and look forward to watching the full video :) I tried the deck against Magneto on Expert and it did not go well, think I bit off a bit more than I can chew there without knwoing the deck too well yet haha! I then decided to try it against Zola on Expert and it went much better :) |
This side scheme is a very fun one. I really like the idea in the video. I always find Justice an aspect which helps Thor cover its flaws, but without cards that sinergize him. It as changed now, and I think that now Thor justice is a really strong build.
Also, as soon as I've seen the previews of Infiltration and The Raft I thought in rebuilding my Thor Justice deck, but your video inspired me for another hero which really likes Infiltration: Nova.
