Hello everyone, I have decided to post my newest deck featuring Silk! The deck focuses on the classic defend with a lot of upgrades and do lots at the same time. I’ve tried not to use cards featured in Sinister motives, what with Across the Spider-verse and Web of Life and Destiny now found in Ham and Silk hero packs, and with what I’ve heard about the Spider-Man Peter ally, you can make use of the Investigative Journalism card.

Make use of Ingenuity and Web of Life and Destiny to draw cards and up resource generation, which SIlk seems to be lacking on, unlike the other web warriors. The decks only way of readying is in the 3 copies of Desperate Defense, so with Spider-Man and Peter and his new combo with Scarlet Spider Ben, you’ll be able to ready up to 8 times! If you want even more than that, add in some copies of Med Team.

Use Spider-Tingle to cancel out the effects of encounter cards and then tuck them under your identity (which I’ll need someone to clarify if that still counts as resolving a treachery). Use Scarlet Spider Kaine to get even more card draw, and he also fits well with the encounter cards synergy. Even better, use Madame Web to peak at the top few encounter cards to see what’s coming.

I’ve added in the usual Protection upgrades, Armoured Vest, Flow Like Water, Nerves of Steel and unflappable, as well as the new Ready for a Fight, which covers that one time you’ll need to flip over. To make sure you get all the healing done in one turn, use Angel’s Aerie to benefit from all your previous defending. In decks like these I usually include 1 or 2 copies of Containment strategy to help cool off Side Schemes, which may prove helpful for Silk’s Get the Scoop, but with J. Jonah Jameson in play, you can already defeat side schemes so quickly for a Protection deck, Containment Strategy feels like a waste.

Silk herself has a great way of thwarting with her Organic Webbing and Outwit, and with Aerial, she’s the first Web-Warrior (Besides Spider-Woman) who can play Ever Vigilant, however I worked out that to gain Aerial, you ready yourself anyway, so you don’t need Ever Vigilant to ready yourself after defending, which seems like a waste in a deck like this (You don’t need to ready multiple times per player phase, but rather the villain phase).

SP//dr is a fun, simple ally, who doesn’t really have any synergy with this deck, However the Noir ally is maybe the only other card which tucks encounter cards under itself, which seems like a great mix for Silk’s, but I feel like it would get in the way of her own tucking, so I haven’t included it in the final version. And of course, this deck can’t make use of the Silk Ally, which isn’t a problem because I’m steering away from Sinister motives anyway since it’s gone out of print.

Super excited to see your thoughts, improvements and anything else, also excited to see when Hall of Heroes posts the full gallery of Silk, so I can finally see if the new copies of Not Today also feature new art!
