You know that itch on your back that just needs to be scratched but you can't quite get to it in the right way? And when it finally gets scratched everything in the world feels right? That's Doctor Strange. After so many playthroughs of trying to kick and drag your way through match-ups, Strange comes in and allows you to win without breaking a sweat and enjoy sweet, magnificent victory.
I wanted to try out a Wong Sidekick deck and this was just perfect. Let's look at the cards:
Allies: At first I tried mixing in an only Avengers to use the Avengers Tower perks, which can still be built into this deck, but it felt unnecessary. I'd suggest bringing along your best friends, the allies that you just love to play. For me, that are allies that give a return like Beast, Kaluu, Maria Hill, and White Tiger.
Black Panther fits into this deck so he can grab a Suit Up. He is my favorite target for Call for Backup in the later game,
Kid Omega is mostly here for the cost.
Ronin+Inspired gives 4 ATK and 3 THW that can be used quite a bite with the toughs you get from The Rings of Raggadorr. (I did not have this in my playthrough video, but added after cutting Suit Up)
I stuck to just Leadership Allies to make the most of The Power of Leadership.
Events: Spiritual Mediation is probably a must with any mystic character.
Side-by-Side works so well with Wong once you get that engine running. I'd suggest keeping all three of those.
Summing Spell is great, but not necessary if you'd want to consider cutting it to make this deck your own with a different card.
I had cut Suit Up from this deck because it is strong enough to wait for Wong + Sidekick and it was such a drain to continue drawing Suit Up in the late game.
Player Side Schemes: Call for Backup is great for grabbing Wong, Black Panther, or Ronin.
Superpower Training grabs either the Cape or Eye of Wild Resource.
Build Support is cuttable in this deck if you'd want. But I found myself grabbing Quincarrier with it quite often.
Supports: Command Teams are great with Wong. I do suggest having all three.
I didn't find myself playing The Triskelion too often, but I can see it making sense if you get the chance to play 4 allies.
Upgrades: Honorary Avenger + Sky Cycle allows for Wong to ready
2x Inspired are for Ronin and Wong as well. I found myself wanting to use Wong's attack activation a lot.
The Sorcerer Supreme is a must with Mystic heroes.
Opening Hand: Getting Wong and the Cape down within the first two rounds are crucial.
Dig for those, Mystical Studies, Call for Backup, or Superpower Training.
As much as this deck loves Wong, the cape is the more important opening item. Prioritize playing the cape and hang on to Wong for the next turn if needed.
From there, let Doctor Strange and his invocations do their thing.

I’d hate to be on the wong side of this deck…
