First-time deck publisher here. I've had a lot of fun with this one solo Standard. I'd imagine it'd hold its own in multiplayer and a lot of, but probably not all, Expert scenarios.
Pretty simple:
- Always have resources in hand to draw a card with Carol's basic power and pay for Photonic Blast
- Use Carol's basic thwart to keep the main in scheme in check and The Direct Approach for side scheme clearing
- Carol's Hero power healing means you don't need to flip that often, but if you do, draw more cards with the Alter-Ego power
Specific callouts:
- Hulk thwarting for 4 with Boot Camp and The Direct Approach is a sight to behold
- Boom Boom softens up minions and "charges" much like Carol--Shoutout to TheMaskedHero's deck for this idea
- Keep Up the Pressure can be a lifesaver to grab a late-game Full-Body Charge--I try to always play it when it comes to hand
- Quincarrier and Carol's non- hero cards can deal with nasty villain attachments that require combo resource spends to get rid of
- I've always been skeptical of Relentless Assault because I don't like a card that only targets minions, and Looking for Trouble takes up deck space I don't have, but it's been pretty clutch here
- I usually take out 1 ally or 1 The Direct Approach, depending on the scenario, to cut weight down to 40 cards
- One by One and Aggressive Energy is a neat lil interaction
This deck cleared Stretch22's gauntlet:
- beat Zola + Blue Moon Standard
- beat Juggernaut Standard
- beat Magneto Standard
- beat Ronan Standard
Also creamed Expert Crossbones with Infinity Gauntlet. More Expert games forthcoming.
Fun deck, and love the clear and concise write-up. Great to see core heroes still going strong in 2025!
